| polt11-21-05, 03:32 PM | I think I've seen this thread before, but I couldn't find it so here's a new one: On the Eberron IRC channel I talked with some guys on how this could be fun. Here's our ideas. Same plot basically, except it's an airship. Mal and Zoe would be veterans of some nation, maybe unmarked mercs of House Deneith. I'd make them Fighter or Scout, maybe with some rogue levels. Both human I'd say. Kaylee, artificer or expert. Maybe half-elf. Wash, member or former member of House Lyrander, probably marked. Irana, house pharlian companion ;). Elf I'd say, but a changeling might work too, although I don't like the idea of that. Book would be a monk of some order, I'd say the Sovereign Host, not the Silver Flame. Dwarf perhaps. Shifter? Jayne's a fighter, maybe even barbarian. Human, maybe hobgoblin. I don't think Warforged would fit very much, but could work. Shifter could too. Now for River and Simon, we thought of two things. Either we could go the Mark of Death way. River are being hunted because she has the mark of death. This would make the two of them elves. I'd say experts both of them (River with a very high intellegence score, some charisma, and not a lot of wisdom). The other idea is that they are both Kalashtar, hunted by the DD. The Dreaming Dark experimened on how to use kalasthar as an empty vessel, to use as assassins or something against other kalashtar. |

I'd make them Fighter or Scout, maybe with some rogue levels. Both human I'd say. Agreed! Mal would have more Rouge lvls than fighter...Zoe could be a straight Scout or a Ranger maybe. Kaylee, artificer or expert. Maybe half-elf. Or a Natural born Mechanic from house Cannith. Sorceress / Artificer :) Khorvar sound good to.. Wash, member or former member of House Lyrander, probably marked. No question there but if his wife is a marked deneith, it could be the reson why he is not in is house anymore... Bard, DMH! Irana, house pharlian companion . Elf I'd say, but a changeling might work too, although I don't like the idea of that. No question She is a elf companion of House Phiarlan, the best of the best. :) Sorceress perhaps...? Book would be a monk of some order, I'd say the Sovereign Host, not the Silver Flame. Dwarf perhaps. Shifter? As fun as a shifter sound i see him as a dwarf, maybe he was someone important in the Aurum or something, Aristocrat / Fighter? / Adept... Jayne's a fighter, maybe even barbarian. Human, maybe hobgoblin. I don't think Warforged would fit very much, but could work. Shifter could too. A Hobgoblin Figher 4 / 2 Barbarian, Yes i like that :) Now for River and Simon, we thought of two things. I liked the DD variant more. seems to me that she is a telepath or something as she sometimes forsees the future and reads other peoples minds... |
| Celas Evriamytholin11-21-05, 06:08 PM | My group started watching Firefly every now and then, and we all wonder why they cancelled the show. Those are very good concepts for each character. Cheers =) |
| Bluebrush11-21-05, 07:56 PM | Mal and Zoe would be veterans of some nation, Cyre is the most obvious one. The nation that lost the most. Not to mention the fact non-cyrans aren't fond of mourners. You know there's a Serenity RPG out already? I played it with the manager of my local FLGS and it was major fun. |

Certainly, Cyrans. Helps explain the "lost cause" under current. Book would be a monk of some order, I'd say the Sovereign Host, not the Silver Flame. Dwarf perhaps. Shifter? I'd say either Silver Flame or Path of Light. |
| trollbill11-22-05, 10:03 AM | My group started watching Firefly every now and then, and we all wonder why they cancelled the show. The rumor is that the network exec in charge of programming deliberatly sabotaged the show so that he could get the one he wanted in Firefly's time slot. Whether or not it was deliberate, the show primarily floundered because of poor scheduelling. I recomend picking up the boxed set of Firefly on DVD. It isn't that expensive and it is well work watching. |
| Rocksa11-22-05, 12:37 PM | One can only hope that Sci-fi will pick up the show and start making more episodes, like they did with Stargate. Seriously though, Mal and Zoe would make great Cyrans. I mean, they fought a war, lost, got their home planet more or less bombed to pieces, perfect match for Cyre. With River and Simon though, I don't know, always thought of them both being human, only that River had been taken in by The Twelve and members of House Vadalis used her to try and make a sort of psionicly charged magebred supersoldier, that way you have all of the houses seeking her out to bring her back to one of The Twelve enclaves for study. I don't know, it's a thought. |
| CravesLove11-23-05, 01:57 AM | I thought, from the movie, clues were laid that Book had been a Paladin type, like the guy that came after River in the movie. Assuming I'm thinking it through properly - might just be dreaming here. Anyway, I see him as being ex-Paladin that tried to go Contempletive Cleric. |

I don't know, it's a thought. Ooh, this fits nicely with what they showed her to be. Maybe this is why the Magebred human thread caught my attention earlier. |
| Celas Evriamytholin11-23-05, 06:39 AM | Aye. They never kept the same time slots. They kept changing the time week after week, so the people who wanted to watch it only happened upon it every once in a while, missing an episode or two in between each treasured moment  . We already have the boxed set, and it is indeed very awesome. I think we're halfway through it. |
| Isran_Imrador11-23-05, 07:06 PM | Sure Cyre would be the place where Mal & Zoe came from. Much like Daine they are now outcast by their own will and seem to like it their... After the war as lucky as they where being in Karrnath as the DoM fal upon Cyre they fleed to Q`barra and the pirates beyond.. One of the first prototype airships had an accident over Blackrock, but he tok the chance purcased it and named his new found love Serenity after the site where he and Zoe was fighting on the northern border of Cyre on the DoM. |
| SirPudding11-29-05, 03:26 PM | Ten steps ahead of you. Kaylee    is our ships artificer, she is a Lyrandar Artificer and pilots occasionaly but is every bit a cheerful and pretty as the beautiful Jewel Staite :D I also have a Zoe character in the works but she isn't ready yet. And no our airship is not called serenity |
