Forgotten Forge Iron Defenders Question [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-19-05, 03:45 PM First off, sorry if this was covered allready. I tried the search but it was down.
So anyway, I was looking through my MM and read the description for the homonculus and noticed it says that they die when their master dies. So how come these supposedly ancient iron defenders gaurding the Forgotten Forge are still around? :confused:
Was this an error or intentional forshadowing? :thinks: :lightbulb Maybe Kedran d'Cannith is some kind of lich-artificer still running around somewhere.
Answers? Opinions? Anyone.

05-19-05, 04:01 PM Homonculi and Iron Defenders, while both constructs, are two different things, I believe. I don't think Iron Defenders maintain any connection to their creator's life-force, since they are essentially just golems.

Correct. They resemble iron defenders for all game purposes, but they aren't actually homunculi.
