Or does it mean that a second mark also appears on her skin? It's made clear that she still retains the powers of the Least Dragonmark, but what I want to know is what happens to the actual mark on her skin? Apologies if this has already been discussed; my "search-fu" is weak today... |

| Save_vs_DM07-20-04, 12:50 AM | Actually, I've noticed something about this...teh syberis mark actually has the least mark composed out of negative space... I keep looking and looking to see the least mark in the lesser mark, but can't make it out. Personally, I would describe a gradual growth and mutation, to where the least mark becomes a lesser mark. I do beleive that you only ever have one mark, and so the least just becomes a lesser one. Eldreth felt that strange, warm prickle across his skin once again. Quickly checking to see that he was alone in the room, he removed his shirt and looked at the least mark he'd had since the time he was fourteen. It shined and shimmered with its usual opalescent light, but something was...different. The heat he felt when the magic was expended was there, but changed in an unusual manner. He felt his brow to see if he was sick, and then started when he saw the mark move. He watched in fascination as the mark writhed as if alive, the least mark slowly creeping across his skin like oil upon water. His skin burned where the mark spread across it, and he strained his eyes to make out where the least mark had been. In a manner of minutes the least mark was gone, replaced by the lesser mark. Sighing deeply, Eldreth knew his troubles were just begining... Hope that helps some folks...I wrote it off the top of my head as a sort of help..that's how I'd describe it, anyway... Cheers, Save-vs-DM |

Actually, the least, lesser, and greater dragonmarks remind me a lot of different iterations of a fractal algorithm, since they grow both in size and complexity. It's akin to plant growth (which can be approximated using fractal algorithms). The Syberis marks, though, don't quite fit. Except for the inverted least mark in the centre they don't look a lot like the other three marks. But that's probably because they are from a different source (Syberis rather than Eberron) and don't have to follow the progression of the other marks (they're not 'upgrades' of greater marks - they can only appear if there didn't exist any other mark before). But probably the artist who created them could give a better explanation... :) |

Maybe you should write for the Korranberg Chronicle....wait, you're the one who designed the site! Too much talent  :ayyyy!: Peterson |
