| talion0906-27-05, 02:03 AM | I'm currently running a campaign with 7 5th level PCs... and the PC's have recently decided to take up an offer and work for the Boromar Clan against Daask in the battle for Sharn's underworld. In the first session of this gang war, I had the Party tasked with taking out a Daask enforcer squad consisting of gnolls and ogres in Malleon's Gate, and then bringing the heads back to their Boromar patron, who wanted to send a graphic message to Daask and its supporters. Here is the problem I have: I'm only going to have 4 of my players for the next session, due to some RL commitments like weddings, etc... so I wanted to run a quick, single session adventure that still tied into the overall storyline of the gang war. Does anyone have any good ideas or stories from their own campaigns? I'm toying with having some Daask minions capture the gnome intelligence chief the Boromars (don't have the CoT book handy, and I can't remember his name) and hold him captive in the temple of the Dark Six HQ. The party will have to rescue him before all of the Boromar secrets are "extracted". |

Boromar want to get their hands on the shipment themselves so that they can benefit from their opponents disarray all the more but will settle for the shipment being destroyed. The 4 PCs have to make their way into the warehouse/-generic noir building- and retrieve the dragonsblood by stealth and hard hitting tactics. A larger group would be noticed but a lone PC might not have the ability to take out the guards who will inevitably notice them. ? |

They got on the Boromars' bad side by rescuing a dragonmarked heir of House Sivis (who is also a compulsive gambler) from a bunch of enforcers sent to collect a very large gambling debt. Needless to say, the Boromar boss who was owed money was not amused. As for the Daask, the PCs had to go to Khyber's Gate in one part of the adventure. While there, they were victims of an attempted mugging by a gang of bugbears (assisted by a troll). The PCs won that fight, but little did they know that one of the bugbear muggers was also the brother of a Daask crimelord. As a result, both the Daask and the Boromars are after the PCs for payback. For your campaign, I can think of a few ideas: 1. The Boromars want to break the Daask monopoly on Dragon's Blood, and they learn that there's a changeling artificer in Khyber's Gate who's involved in the process of making Dragon's Blood. (I don't remember the name offhand, but it's specified in the Sharn sourcebook.) While the Boromars don't realize that the changeling artificer doesn't actually know how to make Dragon's Blood, they believe he does, and so the PCs are sent on a mission to kidnap the changeling artificer and bring him back to the Boromars for interrogation. 2. A series of Daask raids have recently succeeded in inflicting serious damage to the Boromar alchemy labs that produce dreamlily and other drugs. But the locations of the labs was supposed to be known only by Boromars, meaning that someone in the Boromar organization has been selling out information to the Daask. The PCs are given the task of finding and eliminating the traitor. 3. One of the gnoll or ogre enforcers your PCs killed happens to be the brother/sister/son/daughter/other family relative of a Daask crimelord who's high up in the heirarchy. Said crimelord puts out a hit on your PCs. 4. Maybe the Daask are moving into a part of town that was once dominated by the Boromars. The PCs are sent to stop this incursion fast and hard. |

Saidan suspects Dhaask involvement. accordingly, the players are engaged on what appears to be a routine burglary to recover the item which is alleged to have been stolen. The location is actually a Dhaask safe house in Khyber's Gate, and the party are going to have an old school hack n' slash monster bashing session if they're to get out alive. Or you could use the four-character adventure as a prologue to a later arc for your party of seven. For example, Saidan wants to know where all the high-grade dreamlily currently flooding the streets is coming from. In the process of finding out, the party discover that the shipments are being sponsored by Something Awful(TM). This then leads to a full-on investigation in Droaam involving the full seven-member party. |
