So, I was kinda bored, and thinking about my upcoming Eberron campaign. Then I realised that most of the D&D prestige classes have no real established niches in Eberron. Yet. So, I figured I'll make them ones. Remember that these are merely my opinions and thoughts after reading the campaign setting book (and staying awake for some 20 hours...). Please don't bash too much.

Here's Complete Warrior. I'll do Complete Divine next, and then... Well, other books.

Bear Warrior: Found most commonly in the Eldeen Reaches, among rangers, and especially shifters. Also sometimes adopted by orcs from the Shadow Marches, especially those who revere Balinor.

Bladesinger: Many elves of Valenor adopt this prestige class. Bladesingers are held as great heroes in the elven culture, and their legends are sung a long time after they've met glorious death in battle.

Cavalier: Found in the militaries of all Five Nations, especially in Thrane. While the elves of Valenor have the best cavalry on Khorvaire, their ways of mounted combat differ greatly from those of the cavalier.

Dark Hunter: Dark hunters are sometimes found amongs the crusading elements of the Church of the Silver Flame, hunting down the creatures of Khyber. Members of the Gatekeeper druid sect sometimes, rarely, also adopt this prestige class.

Darkwood Stalker: As there is no great enmity between elves and orcs in Eberron, there is no tradition of Darkwood Stalkers on Khorvaire.

Dervish: Both the elves of Valenar and halflings of Talenta Plains sometimes adopt this prestige class, ironically enough. It is truly a sight to see when two meet on the field of battle, and the tales of such an encounter, whatever the outcome, will be long recited by both peoples.

Drunken Master: These peculiar monks are usually found amongst the dwarves of Mror Holds and the people of Karrnath, famed for their rich Nightwood ale.

Exotic Weapon Master: Found most likely in an individualistic society, such as Breland, the Lhazaar Principalities, New Galifar, or Zilargo. Karrn and Thrane rarely become Exotic Weapon Masters.

Eye of Gruumsh: A modified version of this class, wielding a trident, could be found amongst the sahuagin worshipers of the Devourer.

Frenzied Berserker: Found frequently amongst the orcs of the Shadow Marches, and sometimes also shifters and the lizardfolk of Q'barra.

Gnome Giant-Slayer: Unlikely to be found amongst gnomes of Zilargo, this prestige class could be adapted for other races, especially the Brelish folk who fight against the orcs and trolls of the Droaam, and perhaps the drow of Xen'drik, battling the remnants of the giant civilisation.

Halfling Outrider: Many halflings of the Talenta Plains adopt this prestige class. Great coolness ensues.

Hulking Hurler: The Droaam response for the Brelish giant slayers: ogre, troll, and minotaur Hulking Hurlers.

Hunter of the Dead: The Church of the Silver Flame sponsors many hunters of the dead, and many more hail from the ranks of the elves of Aerenal, to whom undeath is the ultimate perversion of natural order.

Invisible Blade: The spirit of this prestige class would fit the gnomes of Zilargo as well as the members of Houses Phiarlan and Thuranni. An invisible blade or two can be found around the arenas of Great Crag and Graywall in Droaam.

Justiciar: The bounty hunters of House Tharashk sometimes become Justiciars, and the Church of the Silver Flame sponsors a few. Bringing criminals in alive for interrogation and justice is sometimes very difficult, especially for random adventurers.

Kensai: While kalashtar do not have much of a martial tradition, the kensai fits them very well. Some might also be found among the personal bodyguards of Khorvaire kings and leaders of dragonmarked houses.

Knight of the Chalice: The Knights of the Chalice are a small but fervent order of crusaders sponsored by the Church of the Silver Flame.

Knight Protector: The Knight Protectors were the guardians of the Royal House of Cyre. Now, after the kingdom's destruction, only few remain with their King in the town of New Cyre.

Master Thrower: Generic enough to be found among most peoples of Eberron, this would most fit the Brelish and the gnomes of Zilargo.

Master of the Unseen Hand: This arcane tradition is cultivated among the Arcane Congress of Aundair.

Mindspy: Mindspies are most often utilised by the Dreaming Dark.

Nature's Warrior: These strange druids are mostly concentrated in the more radical sects, like the Children of Winter.

Occult Slayer: The radical Ashbound sect of the druids includes a few Occult Slayers. Occult Slayers also hail from among the Inspired of Riedra, who are keen on destroying arcane and divine magical traditions that could stand in their way.

Order of the Bow Initiate: Another militant order sponsored by the Church of the Silver Flame.

Purple Dragon Knight: File off the serial numbers, and the Purple Dragon Knight can transform into the Knight of Thrane.

Rage Mage: A most prominent arcane tradition in the Shadow Marches, especially among the orc tribes that venerate the Dragon Below. Rage mages are often tribal leaders.

Ravager: The warbands of the Ravagers are dwellers of the Demon Wastes, members of the demon-worshiping Carrion Tribes. Fortunately for the rest of Khorvaire, the Ghaash'kala tribes keep them there.

Reaping Mauler: Found randomly among the tribal humanoids, especially in Droaam and Q'barra.

Ronin: No. Just... no. The inclusion of the Ronin would require the inclusion of the samurai class, which doesn't really fit the setting.

Spellsword: Used by all Five Nations during the Last War, but few survived the conflict, due to tendency to close in melee and get singled out as a target thanks to their dangerous mix of magic and blades. The tradition is now being slowly revived, especially in Aundair, Breland, and Karrnath.

Stonelord: Found occasionally amongst the dwarves. The path of the Stonelord is not a strong tradition, due to the lack of strong association with earth amongst the gods or the planes.

Tattooed Monk: The tradition of the Tattooed Monks was nearly wiped out when their monastery was destroyed along with the rest of Cyre. The order has relocated to a monastery in Aundair, and is accepting new members.

Thayan Knight: The bodyguards and henchmen of the Twelve, a wizardly guild of the dragonmarked houses.

War Chanter: Found both among the goblinoids of Darguun (especially the Kech Volaar tribe) and the lizardfolk of Q'barra. The Cold Sun Tribes have a higher frequency of war chanters than the Blackscale and Poison Dusk lizardfolks, whose cultures do not have such a tradition.

Warshaper: A truly peculiar and very rare magical tradition that is difficult to pin down in any manner. Changelings tend to adopt this prestige class more often than other races.

Sounds pretty good to me. Of course, I don't have the book, so I'm not capable of argueing details with you anyway.:)

I think you're summaries are fantastic, but one should keep in mind the world of Eberron when allowing such PrC's to exist in numbers. Eberron is a low level world and from my interperatation I doubt there will actually be that many people in these PrC's.

You'd propably wan't to chack out the thread on this in the Eberron classes and monsters forum.(adopting CCs an PrCs)

ChronosCrow, yeah, the thought actually did cross my mind, but I figured that if I'm gonna find them places in the world, that is not something I need to worry about. There'd be vastly more aspirants aiming for them in the world than actual members of the prestige classes.

Alathayn, yeah, I just spotted it this morning, after realising this post would've belonged there, too... I tend to largely ignore boards other than this one, and actually post a thread about once in a year, so it is understandable. Some nice WizO will probably move this sooner or later.

You just gave me a pretty spiffy idea.

Take the feat Tattoo Focus.
Change the name into Dragonmarked Spell Focus or something like that.
Change the prereqs into "member of appropriate dragonmarked race and house and specialized in the appropriate school of magic."
Remove the region restriction.
Limit specialization as follows:

Abjuration—House Deneith or House Kundarak
Conjuration—House Ghallanda, House Jorasco, or House Orien
Divination—House Medani or House Tharashk
Enchantment—House Vadalis
Evocation—House Lyrandar
Illusion—House Phiarlan, House Sivis, or House Thuranni
Transmutation—House Cannith

Necromancy would've been the specialty of House Vol.

Now, take the Red Wizard prestige class.
Drop the alignment, race, and region restrictions.

Ta-dah! Instant 'Wizard of the Twelve' prestige class! :D

Great summaries! Are you aware of the thread that's discussing the same thing over in the Classes sub-board?

http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=250356

Sadly, it's sort of taken a bad turn lately. But there are lots of good ideas there, some right in line with yours, others that take a different tack.

Yeah, I spotted it only after posting this. I never really think about the other forums. But then again, if I did, I would've seen that thread and possibly never done these summaries.

*Goes back to working on the Complete Divine classes.*

*Goes back to working on the Complete Divine classes.*Cool! Well, it works out well because this way you were able to come up with some original, uncontaminated ideas. It's cool to see where ideas lined up, and where they took different tacks.

Good luck on the Complete Divine stuff. Except for a few classes, nobody has said much about those. And I don't have the book yet, so I don't have any ideas.

Black Flame Zealot: The Black Flame Zealots are a secret cult devoted to the Shadow, and the martial arm of the religion of magic users.

Blighter: The Blighters are members of a former druidic sect that long ago turned away from the ways of nature, corrupted by an unknown entity. They now revere the Shadow.

Church Inquisitor: Almost solely found within the Church of the Silver Flame. The dogma of the Silver Flame can be and has been interpreted in many ways, and the inquisitors are there to keep the most radical elements in line, and to take action when they cross it.

Consecrated Harrier: Consecrated harriers are most often found in the ranks of the Church of the Silver Flame, though their numbers have declined since the years after the lycanthrope crusade. House Tharashk might employ a consecrated harrier, and a few rangers of the Eldeen Reaches have taken this path to better combat the aberrations that sometimes roam the woods.

Contemplative: Due to the distant nature of deities in Eberron, contemplatives are rare, but a Cardinal of the Church of the Silver Flame might well be one. None are found among the Blood of Vol or the followers of the Undying Court, due to the abstract or worldly nature of their objects of worship.

Divine Crusader: Divine crusaders are rare beings, and in the church of a given deity, no more than one per domain exist. They are held in high esteem within the church, as they embody an aspect of the deity's dogma. Divine crusaders are never found among the Cults of the Dragon Below, and they always devote themselves to a single deity, not a pantheon.

Divine Oracle: Divine oracles' higher guidance comes from the gods Aureon and the Shadow. Peculiarly, divine oracles are often gnomes, driven by their thirst for knowledge.

Entropomancer: Entropomancers are sometimes met amongst the Cults of the Dragon Below, where they command great respect. This rare breed of spellcasters is even rarer above ground. In the dark Khyber, that little shard of entropy is so much harder to see...

Evangelist: Evangelists are found most often amongst the clergies of the Silver Flame and Blood of Vol. Druidic traditions have none, and the pantheons very few, mostly active in frontiers like Q'barra, Xen'drik and the Shadow Marches.

Geomancer: Geomancers, like artificers, tap into magic in its raw form. The ability to cast 2nd-level artificer infusions can be substituted for either the arcane or divine spell prerequisite.

Holy Liberator: Breland would appear to breed Holy Liberators much more often than the other nations. All holy liberators follow either the Sovereign Host or Dol Dorn.

Hospitaler: The order of Hospitalers is devoted to the Sovereign Host, and based in Aundair. They do not get along very well with House Jorasco, as the halflings charge for their healing services, which goes against the Hospitalers' creed. Their order, however, is very small due to the high standards of entry.

Pious Templar: Found among all races and faiths. Worthy of note are the Pious Templars among the Maruk Ghaash'kala orcs of the Demon Wastes, who venerate Kalok Shash, and use their knowledge of the Labyrinth and their skill with the bow to destroy those who try to cross the border between Eldeen Reaches and Demon Wastes.

Radiant Servant of Pelor: The Radiant Servants of Dol Arrah are required to be Lawful Good.

Rainbow Servant: The few arcane casters with positions in the church hierarchy of the Silver Flame are members of this prestige class or their apprentices and protéges.

Sacred Exorcist: This is one of the few classes I'd say to not fit Eberron. The Church of the Silver Flame already has the Exorcist of the Silver Flame, and while the classes are different mechanically, the niche they occupy is the same.

Sacred Fist: It is interesting to note that with the feat Monastic Training, this prestige class becomes either quite powerful or quite redundant, or both.

Seeker of the Misty Isle: By filing off the racial and deity-specific bits, this class could transform into a sinister seeker, who wishes to bring Dal Quor back to its axis.

Shining Blade of Heironeous: The Shining Blades of Dol Arrah wield halberds, the favoured weapon of their god.

Stormlord: This prestige class is limited solely to the worshipers of the Devourer, and is required to have Weapon Focus (trident). The Stormlords hate House Lyrandar with a passion, seeing their use of the Mark of Storm as a perversion of the Devourer's gift.

Temple Raider of Olidammara: The temple raiders in Eberron are devoted to no specific deity. They are simply a magic-using breed of the Extreme Explorer, often working side by side with them. Many Temple Raiders have ties to Morgrave University.

Ur-Priest: The ur-priest, due to the nature of Eberron's deities and divine spellcasting, is a truly rare creature. However, the agnostic Jhorash'tar orcs in the Mror Holds region might have one among their number.

Void Disciple: The highest-ranking clerics of the Path of Light sometimes adopt this prestige class.

Warpriest: Warpriests are found among the clerics who venerate the Sovereign Host, and especially Dol Dorn. The Church of the Silver Flame also has warpriests, and all of the Five Nations fielded these spellcasters in the Last War.

You know, I see them more as corrupt worshipers of the Silver Flame.

I had them as anti-Silver Flame, tied to the Emerald Claw.

You know, I see them more as corrupt worshipers of the Silver Flame.Me too. The name and flavor make it too nice a bit of serendipity to ignore.

In my own campaign, I might make hospitalers high-ranking followers of Arawai.

Plus there's the fact that giving something for free seems to go against the ethics of most people in Eberron. :D

So what's the consensus - does the minor change shape ability of changelings qualify to get the benefits of the warshaper class? Most of them have the "need to be in the alternate form" requirement IIRC.

Really curious what ya'll think.

Thanks,
