Does anyone know where the stats for the "ghostbeast" are? I thought I saw it in some Eberron book, but for the life of me, I can't find it anywhere.

I have never heard of this before, but it sounds like a beast with the ghost template applied. Is there really a specific creature called a "Ghostbeast"?

Maybe he means Ghost Brute, page 118 in Savage Species. It's a template for making ghostly animals and such.

In short, there are no stats for such a thing. The only place I've even seen mention of it is in Road to Death

I don't think there are any stats out there for a ghostbeast. Personally, I imagine that they are somewhat like wights except that they drain arcane spell abilities and have high spell-resistance. My take is that ghostbeasts are undead versions of sorcerers caught up in the Mourning who were consumed by their own powers from the inside out. I haven't written them up yet, but that's how I envision them working and why there so freakin' scary...

I envisioned them as pale translucent rottwiler-men who lope along on all fours and travel in packs.

Musta been dreaming or something.

But, yeah, the Ghostbeast is an undead entity that lives in the mournland. And It's mentioned in Road to Death, the second book of the Lost Mark series. For those of you that haven't read it, I highly recommend it. Good read.

A wight was close to what I had in mind, but with a sickly, leathery skin. Almost if it was draped in black leather, pulled tight against it's deformed body. It has rows of sharp teeth (think venom from spiderman, but not THAT big of a mouth, lol), a bald head, and green glowing eyes.

The Ghostbeast, in the book, howls; but much stronger and irritating than any wolf. The main character in the book despises the noise, almost as if he has to make a fort save to prevent stunning or something.

I just introduced them in my game, and since in the book the ghostbeasts keep coming, I gave them regenerating stats and 6d10 hit die AC20; drawing energies from the mournland; repairing the damage they took. So much like a troll, with the only thing killing them is 10 points of holy damage (lay on hands, searing light, flame strike, or from a sword.) Consecrate and pro evil will effectively turn them, while a daylight spell or something similar will scare them away for good. My characters are running; coincidentally to Metrol and I figure Ikar the Black can scare off the ghostbeasts and offer a give us all your items/die altimatum unless the aasimar paladin uses his daylight ability. That was a great part of the book.

But anyway, I'm rambling. Thanks for making me realize the stats didn't exist. I must have dreamt it or have been thinking of something else.
