| Raziel_Brokodar10-30-05, 06:21 PM | Races, Fighter types, Feat selection, and whatever else... I want suggestions. We're using 32 point buy. |
| Azual10-30-05, 06:31 PM | 1st level: Human Fighter: Two-Weapon Fighting, Oversized Two-Weapon Fighting, Exotic Wpn Proficiency (Bastard Sword). :D |
| jknevitt10-30-05, 07:54 PM | Warforged Scout fighter, 'gone native' in the Talenta Plains. Rides around on a clawfoot. Fights with boomerang at a distance and a spiked chain for tripping up close. Weapon Finesse, Exotic Weapon Proficiency. |
| Ithamar10-31-05, 06:01 PM | I actually just had this idea this morning. A Warforged fighter named Bulwark who is literally a tank, nothing moves him. And he should definitly have great feats like Improved Trip, Hold the Line, Combat Brute, etc. I would suggest Adamantine Body with a Tower Shield and a Flail. |
| Thwyvylyn10-31-05, 06:35 PM | Bulwark is a NPC as I recall. A rather famous one at that. It is said he convinced Boranel to champion the free forged at the Thronehold Accords. |
| Splendide10-31-05, 08:24 PM | Ghallanda Travelling Merchant - Halfling Fighter Feats: Least Dragonmark of Hospitality, Weapon Focus: Longsword Skills: Profession: merchant, Diplomacy (cross class), Ride The typical Ghallanda merchant relies as much or more on his ability to protect his goods, as on his ability to sweet-talk his customers. |
| Raziel_Brokodar10-31-05, 08:46 PM | cool, cool... keep the ideas coming |
| Nightshade10-31-05, 09:19 PM | Waforged Tank option 2: Fighter with Greatsword Adamantine body feat; if using Races of Eberron, use racial substitution levels 1 and 2 = Battle-hardened and Construct Lock feats replacing fighter feats, then take Power Att and Cleave. Pick up Imp. Bull Rush asap and proceed to Warforged Juggernaut. If No RoE, then just go for power att, cleave, imp. bull rush, and on to WFJ . My suggestion for ability scores: Str: 18 Dex: 12 Con: 16 Int: 10 Wis: 10 Cha: 6 Other useful feats: stable footing, imp. sunder, imp. overrun, hold the line, close quarters fighting, brute fighting, combat brute, shock trooper. |
| Kaleanae en'i Mori10-31-05, 09:56 PM | Gorebrute Shifter Barbarian and later multi class to Fighter |
| MrFilthyIke11-01-05, 08:30 AM | Karrnathi Human Fighter 1, worships Blood of Vol in the Karrnathi "good alignment" way. Uses Exotic Weapon prof Bastard Sword, Large Shield, and heavy armor. "Typical" but slightly different. STR18 DEX12 CON14 INT10 WIS10 CHA10 Exotic Wpn (B Sword) Endurance Diehard |
| Grymar11-01-05, 08:34 AM | For Eberron, I love the dex fighters. Finness Fighting Two-Weapon Fighting Improved Two Weapon Fighting Two Weapon Defense . . .etc Half-Elf Lyrandar would be a nice start too...you could end up being a ship's captain. |
| 13x1311-01-05, 11:18 AM | Warforged from Lahaazar Provinces: Weapons: Trident and Net Feats Ironwood Body Weapon Focus Trident EWP Net TWF ITWF Net and Trident Style from CW Dex 15 at least Strength, the higher the better |
| Aaramis11-01-05, 11:25 AM | My personal favs of the Eberron "fighter types" : - Warforged Paladin using some RoE paladin substitution levels. Adamantine body, longsword, and large shield. Great tank! - Shifter (Longstrider) Scout/Barbarian. Lotsa speed, raging, shifting, and fun with Leap Attack and a 2h weapon (spear is my personal fav.). - Kalashtar PsiWar / Psionic Weapon Master. Greater Psionic Weapon. Power Attack. Nasty crits. And Psionic powers too. A nice change from the FoTM Soulknife builds. - while not a true "fighter type", the Half-elf Bard / Phantom Knight is quite fun to play as well - worth a look at. Can always multiclass with Fighter for some extra feats and +BAB. Another fun "fighter bard" in Eberron I've been toying with is a Kalashtar Bard / Sonokineticist (Pyrokineticist optional rules using variant energy types). Decent BaB (add in some Fighter levels if you want to boost it more), with a 15' long whip charged with sonic energy, and some decent Cha as well! (Faceted Persona shard with +2 CHA, ability to cast Eagle's Splendor (+4 CHA), and then Nimbus from Sonokineticist on top of that (+4 CHA), not to mention type +cha magical items...). Did I also mention Sonic bolts, some nasty bonus damage dice (+4d6 at level 8 Sono), and some Bard song fun? ;) |
| Raziel_Brokodar11-01-05, 06:41 PM | I've always been a DM with a character, and have always missed out on the social situations or leading a party, now as a PC I want to be a fighter and do those things... My current ideas are: Hobgoblin Samurai 16 14 17 12 8 14 Rich backstory possibilities, and 14 charisma and d10 hp, tank possibility. He'd lead in two ways, social situations, and combat/party. Human or Half-Elf Fighter/Rogue 16 14 14 14 8 12 Leaning more towards Half-Elf, Lysandar... swashbuckling (though tempted to just be an actual swashbuckler) two weapon fighting, Longsword and Dagger... RoD substitutions. Also he's not hampered by Lawful acts, honor or being loyal to something (in the Hobgoblins case, the damaged reputation of his master during the Last War, and loyalty to his nation, and of course like all goblins that's done through FAME!) I could be either of these characters at this point... HELP? or views. |
| Raziel_Brokodar11-01-05, 06:43 PM | Another idea is an almost anti-hero human fighter. He wants revenge or something, (Sin City anyone) War Veteran... I don't know the idea for this guy is foggy... (maybe be from Karrnath for fun) Classic party leader... angry sword using fighter, ****** off at something (faintly of based off Daine) again, suggestions to help shape this guy or pick a character... :( (PS, we're playing Thursday! :dancin: ) |
| Ithamar11-01-05, 07:41 PM | Bulwark is a NPC as I recall. A rather famous one at that. It is said he convinced Boranel to champion the free forged at the Thronehold Accords. Dang it! I should have known I'm not that creative... :weep: |
| Azual11-01-05, 08:55 PM | play a Warforged Soulknife. His FISTS are his weapons. mwuhahahahahahaha :) |
| nullex11-02-05, 05:35 PM | The Wild Knight Talenta Halfling Lawful Good Paladin 5/Fighter 4/Cavalier 10 (in that order) Feats: 1 - Power Attack 3 - Cleave 6(F1) - Mounted Combat (Ride-By Attack) (F2) - Spirited Charge 9(F4) - Leap Attack, (Weapon Focus (lance)) 12 - [ ] 15 - [ ] 18 - [ ] Stats: STR (16) 14 DEX (12) 14 CON 14 INT 10 WIS 12 CHA 14 Buying a 16 in STR seems like a waste, but we want STR as high as possible. Pump all the points in there and get a STR boost item ASAP. The progression scales fairly well, as you're starting off with some good ol' fashioned melee fighting (via Power Attack). Your saves are AMAZING for a fighter-type (+CHA from Paladin, +1 from halfling, +ability mods), and your BAB stays maxxed. As soon as you hit 6th level, however, you really start to shine. Your Paladin's Mount is a Clawfoot, which will run around while you poke baddies with a big pointy stick! After 9th level, the Clawfoot's +20 Jump check makes for some nice Leap Attacking goodness! Damage works out to be (assuming a charged Leap Attack): (1d6 + 3*PA + 1.5*STR + misc) * 3 With a 20 STR (2 pt increases, +4 item) and a +2 lance, full power-attacking, you're looking at average damage of: 3 * (3 + 27 + 7 + 2) = 117 (with an attack bonus of +9). You'll deal with an XP penalty for four levels until you're done with Fighter. One solution would be to take Knight Training (fighter) instead of Cleave, but that's a choice I'll leave up to you. Similarly, your feats above 9th are pretty much up to you, although I'd recommend Improved Bull Rush and Shock Trooper, so you can sack your AC instead of attack bonus whilst charging (which you do all the time) and Power Attacking (which you do all the time). Details... Be sure to wear your hunting mask into combat! Oh, and you'd NEED to have a mowhawk. |
