I've got a group of five 5th-level characters who have just finished with Whispers of the Vampire's Blade. We'll be starting GotEC this Friday, I expect.

The party consists of:

warforged warblade 5
human cleric (Onatar), dragonmarked (Mark of Making)
human psychic warrior 5
human rogue 5, dragonmarked (Mark of Passage)
kalashtar warlock 4/warblade 1 (new character, will be joining the party this weekend)

What I'm wondering is... (a fairly weak spoiler inside)
I've got five PCs, and they're fairly powerful (I've had to boost encounters in all previous adventures to provide a fair challenge) even though they do lack a dedicated arcanist.

Would it be too problematic if I left Muroni out of the adventure? I've got my hands full already when I'm running combats, and adding in an NPC seems like it'd complicate things even more. As far as I've seen, she hasn't got much of an impact on the adventure as a whole, apart from dropping a cryptic phrase here and there. It seems she's intended more as a small boost to he PCs than a plot element.

The party relies primarily on wands of cure light wounds, wands of lesser vigour, and wands of repair light damage (for the warforged) for healing, and both the cleric (he's got Warforged domain (Faiths of Eberron) as one of his domains) and the warlock (Use Magic Device +10, can always take 10) can use them, so they've got that corner pretty well covered.

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

I'm working myself down the same plottline (as a DM), havent gotten as far as you though.
But I digress, it should be a simple step to tone her down and keep her for backup actually. Just either make her unable to fight (random level 2 NPC of fitting class). Or Make her one of those, now I'm here, now I'm not NPCs. If you go for the later you can always get her up an into the fray if the others need a hand. And if you go for the first, well then they have to protect her, and make sure she don't die on them. Besides that way you wont have to do other things than move her about on the field.

Now bear in mind that I have not had the time to get to know the adventure really well yet.
