| The White Sorcerer02-03-06, 11:20 PM | Read Player's Guide to Eberron, page 72, the end of the third paragraph. After the outrage caused by the protagonist of The Crimson Talisman, you'd think they'd notice something like this, unless it's an intentional design decision. |

| The White Sorcerer02-03-06, 11:24 PM | It's all ready been confirmed as a mixup by the author (who wasn't Keith). Thank the Sovereigns. :ayyyy!: Which author was it? |
| DragonWatcher02-03-06, 11:26 PM | How many of these posts are there going to be? No... a half elf cannot have human or elven dragonmarks... only half-elven ones. This has been confirmed as errata. Never underestimate the ability of such errors to slip past the editors. BTW... sorry for being snotty, but this exact post seems to have been showing up by different members every couple days since PGtE came out. No offense to White Sorcerer... I just wish that we could get this message sticky or at least in a FAQ. |
| The White Sorcerer02-03-06, 11:43 PM | but this exact post seems to have been showing up by different members every couple days since PGtE came out. Such is the effect of no search function, and my continuing lack of visiting the boards. No offense to White Sorcerer... None taken. I just wish that we could get this message sticky or at least in a FAQ. Or, preferably, in an errata file. |
| Kalanth02-04-06, 01:26 AM | But what if a group used magical powers to turn the half-elf into a full elf, then found a way to magically infuse the person with an elven dragon mark? A stretch, yes. But since it's my vision of the campaign world, I am more than happy to go with it. |

BTW... sorry for being snotty, but this exact post seems to have been showing up by different members every couple days since PGtE came out. No offense to White Sorcerer... I just wish that we could get this message sticky or at least in a FAQ. I maintain two threads, one a collection of sourcebook inconsistencies and the other a collection of unresolved errata. I've updated both threads with examples from PGtE, including the half-elf dragonmarks issue. I apologize for waiting so long. |
| DragonWatcher02-04-06, 11:11 AM | Thanks Euangelion, and thanks to White Sorcerer for not taking offense to my crankiness... I realize that with the lack of search features it's hard for people to read every thread. My crankiness was really at the fact that such an obvious :censored:-up made it into an official sourcebook to begin with. I'll end my complaint with the wish that whoever is in charge of such things at WotC crack down a bit more on such inconsistencies. Thanks again guys. :) |
| Euangelion02-04-06, 11:21 AM | Actually, I'm quite impressed that PGtE had as few inconsistencies as it did. Besides the half-elf thing, I could find only one other, and that simply might be an official correction rather than an accidental inconsistency (since the PGtE's identification as to which hold the Fist of Onatar is in makes more sense than the ECS's). I think that they're really trying, but that's what happens when one brings in people who before writing for the sourcebooks are unfamiliar with Eberron. There's a steep learning curve, since Eberron is so different, and thus mistakes do happen. But we can help by keeping our eyes open, and when we do find an issue, simply identifying it without freaking out about it. :D On the other hand, the mix-up with the High Elemental Binder PrC (see the errata thread) is pretty much a FUBAR situation. What a mess. |
| WayneTheGame02-04-06, 12:11 PM | What a shame... my gf was not happy that she had to pick a different dragonmark (had taken Mark of Finding because the ECS has a line that reads half-elves can be found in human/elf houses) for her character. |
| Hellcow02-04-06, 01:04 PM | (had taken Mark of Finding because the ECS has a line that reads half-elves can be found in human/elf houses) for her character. The issue is that half-elves can be FOUND in human/elf houses... but that doesn't mean they can carry the marks OF those houses. |
