| StinkyNutz10-18-04, 02:16 PM | I am using the "Githyanki Incursion" from Dragon magazine as my overall plotline. While using the adventures for eberron as story filler (the schema can activate portals to "other" worlds, and keep them open, thats why the Gith want it). So I have the bad guys, and an overview of what they are planning and what the pc's can do to foil those plans and head off the invasion, but whats becoming harder and harder is all the other groups in eberron! Theres the Arum, The chamber, the demons, the lords of dust, the daughters of sora kell (who can see the future), and of course all the different nations. How to involve each of these different aspects of the world is becoming difficult (so far I've got three in there, but at a loss for the rest). So far the blood of vol and of course the emerald claw are working with the Gith to help them with the invasion (of course for a price, that being the lich queens help in restoring the mark of death, and destroying the nation of elves as well as the dragons). And the lord of blades, who has learned of the invasion plans, but is right now working to obtain the schema pieces for his own reasons (to try to force the Gith into dealings with him instead). That makes three groups that are all trying to get the same pieces (which is why the forgotten forge has taken over 3 sessions so far ;) ). But what should I do with the other groups and nations? Any ideas are welcome? |

Of course I'm not one of your players and so maybe they can handle more groups all at once, but I'm thinking it takes some time and depth to really get interested in any recurring group. What if, over the course of their adventures, other groups then take notice of what is going on? Or what if the PC's are forced to seek assistance from some group (Aurum or the Sisters) and then the plot thickens? It sounds cool that you want to have the whole world involved in the plot, but it might be easier to see how the story unfolds to see what (if any) role the major groups will take. Just my thoughts on the subject... |

So if the players decide to seek the help of so and so from group whatchamacallit I might have an idea as to what they might know, what their plans/goals are, and all that. Since it is a world changing event that will take place, having the world involved just makes sense to me. Mainly just behind the scenes type of stuff is what I'm looking for (the invasion will happen 1 year game time). Just looking for opinions as to what people think each of the groups plans, ambitions, possible knowledge, and hooks to use for the pc's might be? |
