OK now it has been done and it can't be undone:
my players have traveled to eberron via an erratic energy ball mutated into a portal there.

I have placed them in a dessert and the are:
rgr5
rog5
clc5
ftr5
Wiz4

I am just waiting for the ECSB it seems like it will never arrive :behold:

Point is, i have DnD tomorrow and they are at the desert following some tracks left by the BBEG's after the portal.

Now while the book arrives what do you suggest of doing with this scenario?

I was planning on having some random encounters to fil up this session, but the thing i have another one on thursday.

What can i do? is there any desserts on eberron? what are some names and important sites that they could visit while they get to a city? I am interested on dropping some eberronian style NPC's BBEG as fast as possible. What are their traits?

On another note, they came from FR so they are very different in aspect, manners, looks, tradition and culture to those people in eberron. What changes do i need to do ASAP to their character sheets (they are using eberronian deluxe-style character sheets taken from the eberron site) besides Action Points?

Any suggestions besides that?

Differences: Well the cleric may feel a little different, as the connection to his deity may feel funny. :)

Languages: Depending on what you want these might be different. I would say the non-human races would be similar and maybe the common they speak sounds like an older version of common here.

Clothes, armor and weapons could all have an antique feel to them as they see the Eberron style. Pulp v. High fantasy.

Just a few thoughts

Ciao for now

See the Map...Located Here:
Map Link (http://www.coveworld.net/eberron/lore-map.html)

As you can see, You are most likely near Valenar (Warrior Elves) or Talenta Plains (Halflings on various small dinosaurs). You could also put the portal near the desert area bodering the Mournland. (where a country was destoyed by a cataclysmic magic event (cities were laid to waste but living things that died lay about the gound refusing to decompose, years later, wounds as fresh as the day they died..also The Mournland is surrounded by wall of gray mist. The Mournland - special effect: healing spells either don't function (what the book says) or have reduced effect 50% or something like that.

I hope that helps.

I could be wrong but, the Demon Wastes sound like a good place. Very dangerous but, a good place for a desert. The barbarians may try and kill your or simply just try and keep you in the Demon Wastes but, hey what fun is random Plane Hopping if not for the fact that it cause complications in the heros plans.

A desert huh? You managed to pick one of the best ways to throw the travelling characters completely off guard.

The most notable desert on Khorvaire is the Blade desert found in the south and west of the Talenta Plains, and the Northwest of Valenar. The Talenta Plains are filled with the nomadic dinosaur riding halfings, and Valenar is the land of the nomadic horse-riding warrior elves. East of the desert is the Endworld Mountains, and beyond those are the lizardfolk infested jungles of Q'Barra.

So, assuming you choose the Blade desert route, there are three main scenerios I imagine happening.

First: The heroes wander southward. This will take them to the lands of the Valenar. They are very warlike and expansionistic, so if they go that direction they are liable to end up running into a Valenar clan riding towards another invasion of the Talenta Plains. They might get mistaken for Karrnath soldiers, vagabonds, or worst of all: horse thieves.

If you go this route, make sure to explain that these are elves completely unlike anything the characters have seen before. Thay more like the Tolkien's Roharrim than they are like Tolkien style elves.

Second: The Heroes wander North or West. This takes them into the Talenta Plains. There really isn't much out here, and the characters might wander days before seeing any kind of civilization. Then, they would wake up one morning to be surrounded by a sizable group of short barbaric people all riding velociraptors. Both riders and mounts are wearing bizarre and frightening masks, and the riders carry strange scythe-like weapons and boomerangs. These are the halflings of the Talenta Plains. If the heroes manage to get on their good side, they might get escorted to the next destination.

The next destination would probably be a Karrnath military fort built in the plains to hold back the Valenar elves. Karrnath is a militaristic human nation, but it also reinforces its military with skeletons and zombies. This would be a good time for good heroes to have their first big leap into the gray morality of Eberron.

The next stop would probably be Gatherhold, a large town at the edge of the Plains, across Lake Cyre from the Mournland. Here is the HQ of House Ghallanda, the halfling Dragonmarked House of Hospitality. This should be the long awaited place to really rest and relax, before the Lightning rail arrives to take them into Karrnath or the Mror Holds.

Third: If the characters go east, they should run into the mountains, a dangerous place probably filled with goblinoids. Beyond that, they might have to cross a jungle filled with ancient ruins, lizardfolk, and other hostile creatures. There are some clans of lizardfolk that might be very helpful though, and they might run into explorers and settlers. After a while, they should meet a guide who can take them back to Newthrone, the capital of the small settlement of idealists called New Galfiar.

I hope these ideas are helpful. Please keep us updated on this one, it sounds very interesting.
