Blizzard_Bobsan 11-12-04, 12:42 PM	I have to prepare my next session, but I am in a bit of a writer's block and some help will be very welcome. The party just boarded a boat from Wroat to Sharn, and I need to plan a sidetrek adventure for the trip. I prefer something with a bit of intrigue and many roleplaying possibilities, but combat isn't out of the question. I need just a cool idea, not a detailed plan of the adventure. The party consist of 5 third level characters. Thanks in advance!
Ormazd 11-12-04, 12:46 PM	Just off the top of my head... How about a murder mystery on board the ship a la Murder on the Orient Express? The PCs (for whatever reason) are called upon to play Poirot and determine the identity of the assassin, who might be a changeling and provide even more difficulty. Perhaps one of the PCs is accused of the murder, providing more incentive to find the real murderer. O
Gurv 11-12-04, 02:02 PM	There is a living modify memory spell on the ship. Its a sneaky sort of spell that likes dark places and attacks only motionless, sleeping targets. Being mindless, the only memory it can replace is that of it own attack, changing it to one of a charging warforged (the last memory of the spellcaster who inadvertantly created it).
MarkB 11-12-04, 03:09 PM	Partway downriver, they come across a boat that's just recently been in a battle. Rescuing the survivors, they're told that river pirates were responsible for the attack. The pirates were driven off at great cost to these innocent traders. But something doesn't add up, and when, after taking the crippled vessel in tow, they later come across the body of a Breland River Authority officer caught up against the bank, the truth begins to dawn - these rescued 'traders' are smugglers, and it was a Brelish patrol that had confronted them, only to be slain themselves. What do the smugglers plan for this ill-defended river ferry now that they've been invited aboard? Can the party act to stop them, or is it already too late?
