Help me with some details on 994 YK [Archive] - Wizards Community

So I've decided to implement the "amnesia campaign" idea that's been floating around. To do this, I need to rewrite my introduction to Eberron (http://www.domenicdenicola.com/MyStuff/DungeonsAndDragons/Eberron/) that my PCs will read, for approximately the year 994 YK, say three or four months before the Mourning.

One specific question: any idea on when they started calling it "The Last War"?

I've read through almost all of The Forge of War, so I think I have a good perspective on most things. My current idea for a change list includes:

expand on some of the major events of the Last War more, e.g. undead/warforged use, theocracy taking power in Thrane, various nations declaring independence, etc.
Recast all information on the warforged to reflect that they are currently bought, as constructs---some people are beginning to recognize that they are sentient, and King Boranel has issued the "warforged decree," but as of 994 YK they are still property, in some sense.
Expand on each dragonmarked house's role in the war
Recast all of the explanations of the nations to reflect their wartime status
Obviously, erase all references to the Day of Mourning, and expand on Cyre as more than the Mournland.

Besides updating that document, any ideas on how to really immerse the PCs in their former, 994 YK lives? I think the details of the amnesia campaign should be left for another thread, so suggestions there aren't as useful, but just in terms of "Khorvaire through the eyes of a 994 YK PC," any input would be great.

Use the intro's from Five Nations... those splash-pages with a few short sentences about each country.

Summarise like so:
Aundair: Arcanist nation
Breland: Freedom of Speech, have promised warforged rights
Cyre: Artistic, refined people
Karrnath: Cold, hard, effecient. Zombies.
Thrane: Zealots

Zilargo and Droaam are Breland. Lhazaar is unclaimed territory, Q'Barra is a home for deserters. Darguun is newly established (i believe)

Probably just, "the war", or in the case of specific conflicts and fronts, "the war with Karrnath/Thrane/Cyre/Breland/Darguun/etc". Historic wars usually don't receive their popularized names until after the fact. World War 1 was called "the Last War" and the "The War to End all Wars" until after WWII ended.

Try to watch or read some works set during the Hundred Years war, WWI, and WWII. Travel to enemy nations and places such as Darguun, Droaam, Valenar, etc are going to be much harder since the relatively more violent occupants of these nations are not abiding by any sort of peace treaty.

Stereotyping's going to be much more intense, and it won't just apply to Warforged. The Mror Holds, Eldeen Reaches, Valenar, Darguun, and other regions seceded during the war and their status is still mostly unofficial (no Treaty of Thronehold), probably creating some racial tensions in the lands they once belonged to.
