InfinityStar8 05-02-05, 02:31 PM	I am looking at the Daelkyr in ECS and wanted to add a template to it. I've been doing great till I hit Spell-Like Abilitites.Let me start here; Aura of Madness (Su) has a DC 31Will save (Cha Based with +2 for Ability Focus). Now, how do you get the DC31!??!?!?! If I go half-HD (10)+ Cha (7)+ AF (2) that is only DC 19. If I go caster level 20th (20)+ Cha (7)+ AF (2) that is only DC 29. If I look at the spell and guess he uses it as a Wiz/Sor (4th level spell) and add that in to the caster level that's DC 33! I just can't figure out how they got DC31, once I know that I can figure out all the Spell-Likes and rip them down to usites to then add the template too.
Salla 05-02-05, 03:04 PM	Lessee here now .. the MM says that the save for a supernatural ability is 10+(1/2 HD)+(ability mod). Base 10 (10) 1/2 HD=10 (20) Charisma Bonus 7 (27) Ability Focus 2 (29) Hmmm ... there does seem to be two missing there, doesn't there? I have two theories: 1. They should have a +2 racial bonus to the save DC, or 2. When they wrote the material, they accidentally included the bonus for Ability Focus twice. This one seems more likely, so I'm guessing it's supposed to be DC 29.
