I'm having trouble developing a short story arc for my game.

As a side quest when a bunch of folk couldn't make it one weekend I had the attending players helping a former enemy of theirs search for a hidden Dhakaani valut in underSharn. They encountered a band of OEC soldiers who were after the magical items in the valut. After they defeated the solders and captured one they managed to find the claw's elemental cutter skyship and resucue their now former enemy's kidnaped sister from them, but the mummy that was the head of the group got away.

Now this next session I was going to have the pc's, who are now in First Tower, encounter a small crew of OEC who will open the secret crypt below the tower in town looking for some other Dhakaani items.

I'd like to take these two events and tie them together into a small story arc that will last another two or three sessions, but I'm having trouble thinking of where to take the story.

I was thinking that perhaps they are gathering the Dhakaani items for some rason. Perhaps to trade with some Hobgoblin warlord in Droam for access to something else that he has that they want.

Any thoughts folk have to help brain storm this would be great.

My suggestions would be to making ongoing story arc ,maybe the items in the vault are pieces to a larger item or maybe you can have PC's obtain the 2nd item from 1st tower, but while fighting the OEC the PC"s retain the 2nd item. But a group of hobgoblins ambush the PC's and steal both items or just 1 item and the war party needs the item for some type of tribal or clan ritual. The PC's not only have to watch there back from the OEC, they also have to trackdown the war party to there location and you can create 2 or 3 sessions from there. The war party can work for the Hobgoblin Warlord if you want to keep him as main villian.
