Isran_Imrador 02-01-05, 08:31 AM	I am sure there are about 10-15 Marks of death versions here somewere! mine is : Mark of Death Least: Detect Undead 1\day and Gentle Repose or Command Undead or Desecrate 1\ day. And +2 Bluff Lesser: Speak with Dead or Animate Dead 1\day Greater: Ceate Undead or Control Undead 1\day Siberys: C Gre. Undead or Soul Bind 1\day I tryed many different things before i got to this... What were you thinking you would do?

Isran_Imrador 02-01-05, 09:50 AM	I looked at all the diffrent versions, and the other dragonmarks. dont remember what i started with but i became this after some time... Sorry, to say it hasent made its way to any pcs jet. Dosent quite fit in the current setting. i just have it ready becouse in the next campaign i was thinking to bring vols line back again... that is, try anyway... A npc or pc dragonmark heir of death sure can do "good" and "bad" things with this power in their hands! Npc Paladin of Silver Flame with Mark of death sounds fun! :D What are you going to do with it in your setting?

So, how did he get the Mark of Death? Or more so, why did his GM approve the mark? What did the PC do to find the Mark? There really should be something in the GM's back story for allowing the Mark to exist. And that would give a lot of what is behind the Mark and what it does. I see powers like: Least - Detect/Control Undead Lesser - Create/Question the Dead Greater - Death Touch/Life Stealing Siberys - Resurrect/Power Word(Death)/Become Undying I think that the powers of Death were far greater than the powers of the others, that is why it was destroyed and/or hidden from the rest of the world. But ask the Undying Court, I'm sure that they would know...

Maybe he's a glutton for punishment? :D To be honest I know little to nothing about his PC other than... <<Rendrymar Tedronai was born Rendrymar d'Althir of the House of Red Dawn, in Aerenal. He was born in RY XXX under the sign of the sleeping dragon; this augury was to prove most accurate as young Ren came of age. His magical prowess developed early; as a child, he discovered a talent to spontaneously cast spells. Unlike most such natural spellcasters, he quickly took to the ordered way of wizardry, and became a delight to his early instructors. In his early youth (he was only in his mid-twenties) he was introduced to another prodigy, Lialyn d' and the two became fast friends. However, fate had other plans for him. It was his uncle, Belnyran d'Althir, who discovered that young Rendrymar manifested a dragonmark not seen for nearly three thousand years, and thought to have been purged from the face of Khorvaire - the Mark of Death. Fearing what would happen if the other Aerinar - or worse, the minions of Vol, for the memory of her dark legacy is still preserved among the elves - should find out, Belnyran sealed the Mark with a powerful hex, and fled with Ren to the Tairnadal sect. It was then that he swore the youth to always wear gloves, taking no chances that someone might somehow discover the eldritchly hidden Mark on his left palm. Redrymar honed both his magical talents and fighting prowess among the Tairnadal, and his old life, family and friends, began to fade into memory. When Shaeras Vadallia led the Valaes Tairn back to Khorvaire, Rendrymar followed, learning the trade of war firsthand. He spent the final few decades of the Last War as a member of the Storm Crow Warband, cutting a swath first through the enemies of Cyre, then through all who opposed the nascent state of Valenar. After the Treaty of Thronehold, he has taken up residence in Sharn, in alliance with a former comrade (Steve's char's name). Rendrymar's patron ancestor is Tedronai Maladhar. Tedronai - which means "dawn star" in the ancient elven dialect in use at the time - lived just prior to the apocalypse of Xen'drik and was as feared for his powerful magicks as he was for his mastery of his dread weapon. His blade was forged from a mixture of adamantine and a crystalline blue metal that "fell from the sky like a blazing star." Once this strange translucent metal was used up (and there was precious little to begin with) there wasn't even enough of the resultant alloy to forge a single longsword, so the decision was made to forge it into the teeth of a spiked chain. The strange alloy was a deep, reflective black, save for its razor-honed edge, which gleamed like polished gold, giving the weapon its name - Black Death. Tedronai wielded the Black Death at the Battle of the Ebon Gate, where he commanded the force which held a vital pass against the giant legions. Tedronai lost an eye and most of an arm, but held the pass for three days until the elven armies, who had been assembling in secret, could take the field. On the third day, he met and slew the leader of the giants, Ophandurax, in single combat, with sword and spell. The Black Death was lost, as was Tedronai himself, in the final cataclysm which overcame Xendrik, when dragon magic strove with giants, and the continant itself was rocked by the conflagration. Tedronai's symbol is a black sunburst, with which Rendrymar identifies himself. Only three other elves have claimed Tedronai as their patron in the last 40,000 years. One of them, the traitor Valenaan, betrayed the elven defenses on Khorvaire to the hobgoblins; his name is villified to this day. The other two met untimely, if less infamous, ends. Isran_Imrador 02-01-05, 05:25 PM	I dont mind! ;) Well if they want to try this verson of the mark out, that would be great! :D All the major power of Khorvaire are somehow involved in the marks re-apperance. If they like it or not. If vol gets hold of this pc and more markes of death apere there will be some shifthing in the balance of power....The Chamber, Erandis d`Vol and the Emerald Claw, Kaius I\III, Lords of Dust, Undying Court. Silver Flame migth want to turn any heir of Vol into a belive so they dont turn to evil.... have you seen the Dragonshard on house of Shadow? and the ones about Valenar? History In ancient times house Vol where the caretakes of the dead. Even in the deathless society of the elfs, death always caught up with most of them. Just the greatest elfs where promoted to deathless status! They where feared couse if you made an enemy of them ruomor sayed that in death they would have their revenge and turn you into a mindless undead. Even when they helped people preserve and talk to the one on the otherside, they where looked upon in awe and fear! On the family estate, far from the eyes of the undying court. Some of the leaders of the house turned themselves into powerful undeads to lead their house forever! Their where growing conserned about the war with the dragons of the south and managed to contact a dragon of great power that felt the war should come to and end. The coming years the most promising Volings were mached up with the dragon to start the new line of half-dragons that would end the war! As the Vols decleared that the new time of peace was upon the waring races, the creation of the half-dragons angered the two waring partys an large forces were send to eradicate the Vol estate, all members of the house. And erase all thrase of their exsistanse from Eberron. The Vols did not last long under the barage of the dragons and the undying court. It semed they had found a common enemy…When the dust seattled the war was over but house d`Vol was gone to! Or so they tought! The great dragon that helped the Vols has never been seen again! Some say he even now lives among the long forgotten ruin of the Vol estate….. (wrote this up a while back...) A question or two for the pc. 1. is he "evil", does he want the mark of his blood to gain power once again? is he a "good" guy an dose not want t ose the line of vol re established? But ask the Undying Court, I'm sure that they would know... I think there powers sould be on level with the others! why would on of the mark be more powerfull so to speak than the rest? The Vol`s were kill becoues in the middle of the war with the dragons they basicly sleept with the enemy and the result a brood of half-dragons....well the dragon and the undying got a common enemy...
