I have never run a game before, however I have been in MANY games, usually just telling my DM what I want to do and he tells me how to do it, (role whatever). My Husband, who is a big Dark Sun fan, and his friends wanted to play in a game, so, I offered to run one for them. I don't really know any rules, but having a group of players who know every rule including page numbers helps me out lots. I picked Eberron because none of them had played it before - I believe that is the ONLY game I can say that for. OK so here is my problem...

I ran the adventure in the back of the book, and then one from a Dungeon Magazine and then the Shadows of the Last War. I just bought the next one Whispers of the Vampire's Blade. I read it (most of it) over, but was disapointed when there was no mention of Schema's. Is that the end of them? Where are the other two? Am I missing something or does it come later?

Also, as a side note - in the Shadows of the Last War, I believe that on pg. 28 in room w11 the adventurers should have found a yellow keycharm not red. But again, maybe I just missed something.

Grasp of the Emerald Claw. Whispers does introduce people that reappear in Grasp, though. Picture Whispers as spomething like an important side quest.

In shadows of the last war there is a keycharm missing.

Having players that know the page numbers allways annoyed the hell out of me. And that is why I'm digging into Eberron myself.

But there are more Schemas in the next installment of the series.

And no I don't know exactly what the Schema does. I'm interested to find out myself.

There's no keycharm missing. It's an error in the text of the page that's said a yellow one is needed--if you look at the keycharm diagram, it calls for an orange instead. See that the map has dead ends wherever you would need a purple or a yellow keycharm? Those areas are not necessary for the PCs to go. I believe Keith Baker said at some point that the yellow and purple keycharms were hidden originally and that the entire complex was mapped out, but due to space limitations unnecessary areas were cut and the keys needed to get to them weren't listed among the treasure. If you want to put the other keycharms somewhere, then you'd have to map out the other areas. This took me quite a while of flipping through the pages to realize, and you're not the first one to ask here.

The schemas and creation patterns come back in GotEC, as has been stated. WotVB uses some familiar enemies and such, but isn't really part of the storyline with the schemas. I may even skip it in one of my groups, as the players won't miss any of the story and that gives me a chance to try some of my own ideas.
