Heroes in Eberron [Archive] - Wizards Community

It just strikes me as an interesting thing to have going. Instead of mutants one could even just have a group of adventurers tied to the Prophecy. Instead of Scary Government Conspiracy one could have the Chamber (the Chamber as villains! Novel! Ish!) pulling the strings.

... but mostly, I just want to see some sort of Illithid Savant version of Sylar. The problem would be keeping him human-looking, becuase I honestly think it's scarier when a fairly ordinary looking human attempts to eat your brains and bust out psionic powers than a tentacle monster.

Thoughts? I haven't been able to watch the show in a while due to being in Japan, but...

The problem would be keeping him human-looking
If it's to be in Eberron, at least make it Eberron-esque!

I think it's scarier if that aforementioned tentacle monster works at a restaurant and propose you to try the delicious Mrorian stroganoff...:P

And re: conspiracy... It's been a while since I was able to watch the show (I'm in Tokyo right now and haven't had time to get it off the internets) I think I got it mixed up with another show o_O

Anyway, my feeling on tentacle monsters is... well... they are very scary. but it's scarier when the horrific monster you're fighting wears your own face, seems a countryman. This is why I honestly find the Daelkyr to be some of the most creative and SCARY creatures to come out of DnD in a while. An angelic, perfect creature who is the embodiment of absolute madness is, to me, much more menacing than a mass of tentacles which is going to eat me.

Besides, I think he loses much of his Sylar-ness if he's very obviously a Creature Not Of This Earth. Part of Sylar's scaryness is that he looks like a pretty average guy and is, most of the time, fairly polite.

*e* I personally think Hiro's from Rideria, possibly randomly manifesting a Mark of Passage despite not being in the family (which makes him a Very Strange Anomaly and would thus Attract the Attention of People). He was an average farmer guy who somehow really DIDN'T buy into the Dreaming Dark propaganda - even the stuff in his dreams - but went along with it anyway. Until, well, one day... BAMPH. He ends up in the middle of Sharn.

Future!Hero is a Nomad 20 with the Badass template. :P

I was more focused on the "government" part :P The Company, as we know for now, is not governemental. And my opinion is that it would be cliché if it was, and give a poor note to the series.

Hmm... I'd say none of them... and maybe all of them... we still don't know what the Company really is, all we have is some clues and theories. And since you missed many episodes, I won't bother you with spoilers ;)

If you're looking for some way to do it with an actual Aberration, then I'd suggest either the Intellect Devourer from the Psionics handbook or the Tsochar from the Lords of Madness. Both of these invade a host body. You just need one that absorbs and takes dragonmarks along with it when it leaves.

If you're looking for some way to do it with an actual Aberration, then I'd suggest either the Intellect Devourer from the Psionics handbook or the Tsochar from the Lords of Madness. Both of these invade a host body. You just need one that absorbs and takes dragonmarks along with it when it leaves.

I think the obvious Heroes analog would be to make the characters Aberrant Dragonmarked, with the conspiracy possibly connected the Twelve, with an organisation trying to eliminate the Aberrants..

Both these ideas are fantastic. Have everyone running around with aberrant marks, have a great many of them be actually GOOD people. And the marks might not neccicarily be your bread-and-butter ones, I can imagine things like, say, a human with a Mark of Healing showing up (which is still an abberation)

And yeah... Sylar's would be then something mad crazy like cutting the marks off of the person in question and grafting them to his own skin (but removing the mark in this way -kills- the person in question because of how the process works)
