03-12-08, 04:59 PM So Forgotten realms has Drizzt and Wulfgar and all them guys so who dose Eberron have for heros.

If not who would you recomend.

lets see what the brain trust got.

03-12-08, 05:13 PM The King of Breland can easily be a Hero. Other then him, however, there are not a whole lot, at least not a lot that are stated obviously.
I think that is the point though, Eberron is a dark world and alignment is blurred enough so there are not a lot of heroes and vilians.
Of course there is Vol, as well as several other bad people, but are they may help the party if the need is so great, such as the Lords of Dust are going to destroy the world and Vol is all like "wait, this is were I put all my stuff, screw you". There is also the Lawfull Good paladins that could be seen as the good guys who are killing the goblins cause they are filth, yet those Goblins are people just like the Humans.
In Eberron, like in life, there is no such thing as good or evil, there is just being.

Look at Five Natoins though, Brelands section would have a few, such as the King and 3. As well the Cleric that runs the Silver Flame could be a Hero.

03-12-08, 06:43 PM As I see it, one of the main points of Eberron is that it's a world in need of heroes - in other words, a world that needs you. We've heard of a number of war heroes - for example, the captain of the Redcloaks in Sharn - but IIRC he's got some warrior levels; he's not a match for what a PC can become. You have Jaela, but her power is limited to Flamekeep - and you have Oalian, but he's a tree. These are allies that can help you - but they aren't going to show up and fight Vol themselves. You have the heroes from all of the Eberron novels that you could use if you want, but they're explicitly non-canon (and with a few exceptions mostly seem to be below tenth level). And as Andrewknaut says, some of the "villains" could be allies depending on your party; if you're a warforged, perhaps you can find common ground with the Lord of Blades.

But overall, who are the heroes of Eberron? That would be you.

The PCs. There are other powerful and good-aligned characters in the setting, but they aren't heroic.

03-12-08, 10:52 PM Now, Bone_Yard, since you mentioned Drizzt and Wulfgar, did you want to see a list of the heroes from the Eberron novels? Because I'm sure we can give you one if that's what you want, and you certainly could use these characters as heroes in an Eberron campaign. It's just that by default they're noncanon, and only around if you want them to be.

03-13-08, 04:57 AM Problem with using the novels is that I don't think any of the fictional characters are quite on par with either Drizzt or Wulfgar in terms of number of accomplishments. At most, each Eberron novel character has been in four stories (a novel trilogy and a short story prequel).
