| Sir Elton07-24-07, 11:06 PM | This is Eberron related, actually. Okay, I'm finally getting a new computer to replace that old one. It's going to have the programs I need: i.e. adobe InDesign and so forth. For sometime, I had a great idea for adventure based around Stillstone Holt. Stillstone Holt is the home of the Kalashtar on Stormholme (I don't have my books in front of me, of course). I think I can make some free adventures based on Eberron and make them available on a website. Of course, with my eccentricity, I'll try to make them professionally done. I was thinking of a series that happens right at the end of the Last War. Right up to the destruction of Cyre and the aftermath. You might even meet a character from Eberron's future (a METAMAGE!) in this series. I think it will be cool to pull off. :) |
| N3palm07-25-07, 02:06 AM | Well, good luck to you then, and thank you in advance. Which website are they going to be on? |
| Sir Elton07-25-07, 08:54 AM | I don't know yet. If Keith was posting more regularly, I could ask his advice. :) |
| Amaril07-25-07, 09:56 AM | I know this might come across as rude, but it's a real pet peeve of mine when someone starts a thread with a subject that is either a partial sentence that doesn't make sense such as "Where can I find...;" a generic statement such as "I have a question," or "This is cool"; or a greeting as in this thread. It makes it extremely difficult to sift through threads. With that out of the way, I recommend submitting it as a possible adventure for the DI version of Dungeon Magazine. They have submission guidelines posted on the web site. |
| Sir Elton07-25-07, 10:44 AM | I thought someone would get around to saying something like that. I don't mean to be rude, but I don't like Dungeon Magazine politics. |

| AntiSean07-25-07, 11:21 AM | This forum is not your personal website, diary or blog; *please* stop treating it as such. When one takes the time to sift through the extraneous ramblings, your post consists entirely of "HAY GUYZ I have an idea about Eberron." Umm, horray for you? You're not starting a discussion, you're not soliciting opinions, you're not asking for advice; once again, you're merely dumping a random collection of thoughts that are at the most barely tangentally related to the purpose of this forum. If your post had merely stated "I saw a blue car today. Also, I like Eberron.", it would have been equally relevant, which is to say, not at all. |
| davethebrave37107-25-07, 11:46 AM | What politics? Gotta concurr here. What politics are you talking about? Got some "insiders perspective" on it, Sir Elton? |
| Nerdicus07-25-07, 12:06 PM | Wow...AntiSean...these forums are a place for us enthusiasts to put down thoughts and get help with ideas and or information. Sometimes a great idea starts off with something like, "So I've been thinking of doing this..." And can eventually turn into something really great that others can use. Just because something doesn't fit into your criteria for appropriate substance for the boards, doesn't mean you need to make a post that has nothing to do with anything other then your need to force your will on others. If a post has nothing you deem worthy of replying to....don't reply to it! Though the title could have been a tad more pertinent to the subject.... I'm not trying to be a jerk here but come on! If it is truly an inappropriate subject matter for the forums, one of the administers will get involved. Back to the post in question... Sir Elton, I think your adventure idea sounds great. And I for one like it when people use the boards to post up ideas they have for adventures and what not. It is often the case that those sorts of posts lead to some cool ideas of my own that I then use at the table. |
| Sir Elton07-25-07, 02:39 PM | Gotta concurr here. What politics are you talking about? Got some "insiders perspective" on it, Sir Elton? Well, it's the "We always get a lot of submissions" line that really get's my ire. :( But that doesn't mean that I won't do it. |
| Nashad d'Thuranni07-25-07, 02:40 PM | Same here! I would love to see other peoples Adventures. I would like to write one myself to. Does anyone around here know if there are eberron templates for indesign? So I can make it look real? Thanks |

| Amaril07-25-07, 02:42 PM | I think any independent Eberron adventures would be in violation of trademark or copyright infringement, especially if using artwork (page design) that's emulating WotC's to make it look "real." |
| Nashad d'Thuranni07-25-07, 02:43 PM | I'm not planning on selling them :) |
| Amaril07-25-07, 04:12 PM | I'm not planning on selling them :) You don't have to sell them. |

| Amaril07-25-07, 08:33 PM | Precisely. |

I'm not selling them either. Although, I think it would be funny if they got a .pdf sub. By the way, I found the new Dungeon/Dragon Interactive Submission Guidelines. Also, I might need Heroes of Battle to do this thing. If I am free to come up with mook/goon/extra rules. ;) |
