The questions is pretty straightforward. If someone was an illegitimate child of a dragonmarked house could they hide a mark they developed? Is it as easy as just wearing high necked, long sleeved robes all of the time? Would you need to be under a Nystul's undetectable aura effect? Does the mark give off a magical aura that can be detected in the first place?

Any help in answering this question is appreciated. My personal search has become somewhat frustrating.

Depends on how nasty your DM wants to be.

From the descirption, it looks like a tatoo and gets hot after use, but other than that, you could hide it from plain site with clothing. If you want to hide it from all detection, you would need to use magic.

I just got it last night, so I don't have all the new niftiness memorized, but the Complete Arcane has a new spell that is essentially a wall that prevents magic-using creatures from passing through it if they have any magic left to use (prepared or spell-slots available), or spell-like abilities that can still be used.

If you just want to look normal in a crowd, it shouldn't be that hard.
