| Hell-ish-Thang04-26-05, 06:11 PM | Hello. My bro and a friend wanted to start 20th level characters. I have no idea how to handle such powerful characters...Can someone give me an idea on how to handle them? And adventure ideas if possible.TYVM=Thank You Very Much |
| Hell-ish-Thang04-26-05, 06:25 PM | I have a general idea. I was thinking maybe of a mad epic wiz that has a gnome fighter and a 1/2 elf druid as right and left hand in whisper Rock. Recenlty attacked Stormhome with magic weapons greater than +10. Maybe in a tower. I was thinking of awakened huge oaks and dire bears as defense and maybe some elven troops What da ya think? |

In Eberron, a party of 20th Level characters far outpaces everything that's been published for the setting so far, so the DM would have to craft his own challenges. In Forgotten Realms, there are many more published high level NPCs and monsters, so the DM can draw upon existing material to challenge the PCs with. |
| Hell-ish-Thang04-26-05, 07:56 PM | Ya was thinking bout that too. My bro and my friend are really annoying when it comes to quality so i want masterwork |

By starting at level 20, you basically ignore everything in the book and strike out into homebrew (read: made up) territory immediantly. Thwap your brother with something soft but firm, tell him this isn't a video game where you can plug in your gameshark for invincibility and warp straight to the last level of the game. Thats now how this game works. Doing that is more like reading only the last chapter of the book. You've got no idea whats going on, and you won't think its very good because you're confused about everything. Again, hit him with a wiffle bat or something, and make him start at level 1. |

YOu could adapt one of the WizO modules, I think it's called Forge of Lost Souls, or something...it's for 15th lvl and up, I believe. In that module, an ancient red dragon hungering for immortality worked his way into a nexus plane, where the unborn souls of all creatures who will ever be born await their turn. He has gone there to feed on their essence, and prolong his life forever at the expense of theirs. The idea occurred to me a while ago of a possible tweak to this Eberron-style. It is not a dragon that accessed the plane, but instead it is.......wait for it...House Cannith! Yes, the House found some old giant runes in Xendrik, which they only partially understood. It turns out the giants of old had to find a source of unimaginable power to sever the connection b/t the Prime Material and Dal Quor, and so they turned to this Plane of Baby Souls (or whatever). They meant to use its power to cleanse Eberron of the Dal Qour taint, but something went wrong, and it blew up.... So now, the HOuse finds the runes allowing micro-taps into the Plane, but doesn't understand what it was originally for. Imagine their surprise when they discover that they can use this strange source of power to create.....wait for it...the warforged. Yes, that's right folks, the wf are actually possessed of souls, but they are the highjacked souls of the unborn, and if too many gather together, each one of them representing a micro-fissure into the Plane of Baby Souls, then the horrible destruction of Xendrik will occur again.... That's my idea, anyway. I'd like your thoughts on it, as well. |
