ieattrollsforbreakfast 12-20-06, 10:14 AM	Nothing prevents it, but it would be unusual. It would take a very brave Vadalis heir to try to tame and breed horrid animals! A magebred horrid carver, though? Even more unlikely. Carvers come from the eastern nations, the Talenta Plains and Q'barra, whereas horrid animals come from the western nations: the Eldeen Reaches, Droaam and the Shadow Marches (which were protected by the Gatekeepers). To find one horrid carver would be unlikely enough, but to find enough to magebreed? It's a stretch.
gaerfindel 12-20-06, 10:22 AM	Short answer: No. A Horrid Animal is a template that can only be applied to Dire Animals, while Magebred is a template the applies only to Regular Animals, usually dreybeasts or other domesticates. So no horid magebred carver mounts. (Not that I'd want to ride such a beastie...)

The magebred template only specifies a 'living animal', so carvers and dire animals still meet the requirements of the template. Sure, magebreeding dire animals and dinosaurs is unusual, but its not forbidden by the rules. I have just realised one problem, though...you can't apply the horrid template to the carver, since there is no dire carver. I guess you could rule that dinosaurs count as dire animal, but that's a (sensible, IMO) house rule. Not that I'd apply the horrid template to dinosaurs myself, I don't think the flavour fits.
