Just out of curiosity and also looking for some inspiration as an Eberron DM,
Where are you in the Eberron timeline?

I'm guessing some people are playing in the century of the Last war too, but what about those who have been playing Eberron awhile and are now advanced in years?

Did magic stop working in 1000yk? What is going in 999yk? What about 1012yk? I'm curious, I want some cool stories.

It's a shame no one answered in this thread. Usually people won'T stop talking about "their games" but no one has something to say. Maybe everyone is still playing in 998 YK.

Anyways, Pegasuspaladin, when the timeline advances in your game, please write here for my inspiration/curiosity.

I'm about three weeks past the campaign start in the ECS in my game. The big events the players might hear about are laid out in the No Love for the Goblins thread, which could be dated to before the 998YK, since I've been very careful to keep the scheming and manipulating from tying into anything that alters the setting.

18 Dravago, 993 in my regular campaign.

Just last weekend, though, I ran a game that was set in mid-Olarune, 894.

Well, I do not have a campaign running at the moment, but the meta-campaign I'm planning will probably go to about five-ten years beyond the current time.

So, by the time all the campaign events are said and done in 1010 or so, Sharn has been heavily damaged by Xulo of Grasp of the Emerald Claw fame, who possessed Merrix, which resulted in a new army of warforged who become refugees after they're freed, a giant Xulo wreaking havoc, and the shattering of the central authority in Cannith South.

A powerful self-proclaimed "Abherrent Heir" begins a search through the deepest reaches of Sharn to find a legendary "Last Armory" of the Abherrent forces in the War of the Mark. Though he, his successor the Heir of Khyber, and the organization they created failed in their goals, the new organization of Abherrent Dragonmarked continues to survive and is slowly recruiting until a time of weakness appears and they can claim their own chaotic homeland. (preferrably Sharn.)

Reidra's colony in Xen'drik is destroyed by a group of self-proclaimed "Destiny Warriors" who posses the so called "Destiny Arms", who then travel to Adar to aid the resistance against the Reidran nation. Reidra has thus begun to drift more towards hostilities with the nations of Khorvaire, the main effect of which is an acceleration of their attempts to gain a significant foothold on the continent, in activities of the Dreaming Dark, and other covert actions. The death of Merrix d'Cannith at Sharn, probably due to the actions of the second group of PC's and the beginning of the dismantling of Cannith South as Cannith North and West begin a land grab on Cannith South locations, technology, and the loyalties of house members. Cannith North and West begin to grow more hostile towards each other, and a form of covert conflict just shy of war ends up developing as both sides attempt to gain an edge in the leaderless Southern regions.

After the Lake Dark/Tarrasque/Emerald Claw battle royale, ending with the destruction of the top members of the Claw, as well as the "apparent" death of Vol, the organization splinters into several competing new factions, each of which attempt in different ways to gain power in the aftermath. Part of the last campaign, the earlier levels at least, would deal with battling one of the factions of the old organization, the Crimson Torch, led by a charismatic cleric who intends to use the organization to forge his own kingdom. He dies, and the Crimson Torch would be destroyed in the end.

A warforged hero gains control of the docent Shira, and in the end is given a dream which turns into a prophesy of a new warforged nation, Newforge or perhaps Home. He becomes known as "The Dreamer" and returns to Sharn to lead the refugee Warforged to find a new homeland in either northern Xen'drik or a large island somewher. In time, it becomes a relatively peaceful beacon of the Warforged, as opposed to the LOBster's growing nation in the Mournlands. The two "nations" end up working together in an uneasy alliance, with the LOBster supplying the technology to build a creation forge, and the Dreamer supplying a number of other things including military aid. Naturally, the LOBster infiltrates the Dreamer's government, which would lead to new plot threads in a later campaign. This all lead to new political problems, as they both become significant forces in the world, in name if not in actual true power.

With a Cannith Cold War brewing, Reidra and the Dreaming Dark attempting to incite a new war quietly in order to accelerate Khorvaire's collapse, the new factions made of the former Emerald Claw pursuing active terrorist campaigns within the Five Nations, the LOBster and the Dreamer acting in accord with each other to forge a warforged nation(s), much to the Five Nations' chagrin, a great illness affecting King Boronal of Breland, the Abherrent House's continued efforts to take advantage of Breland and Sharn's weakened situation and renewed open conflict between Aundair and the Eldeen Reaches, war proves to be on the horizon.

Thus, in 1008 YK, it would be up solely to the new PC's in the final campaign of the meta campaign series (first dealing with the Emerald Claw, the Tarrasque and the brining of Xulo to Merrix, second in Xen'drik with the Destiny Arms, destruction of Reidra's colony and the rise of the Dreamer, the third in Sharn, with perhaps both the stopping of an Abherrent War in addition to the Xulo Conflict) to stop the Next War from occuring by any means necessary. (soon, of course, they learn that the Next War is inevitable. But if they can delay it, they can stop a terrible future from happening, and the world will be saved. But their actions will only delay it, not stop it.)

In the end, should the players succeed, another decade or relative peace will flow through the continent before the Next War begins again, probably starting in 1022-25, due to any number of factors.

Eesh. I guess I plan out a little bit too much in advance, don't I?

Started Olarune 3, 998, and are now at Vult 3, 1000. Since that's the last month, we'll end year 3 very soon. PC's have progressed from L2-11.

Levelling takes a flat three weeks. That accounts for 1/2 a year. The vast majority of the rest is travelling time. It takes a while to get around Eberron.

I also do not handwave away things that really should take a long time. The party is planning on doing a major expedition into the Frostfell, so they decided to learn how to run an expedition for their recent trek to Xen'drik, even though at L11, they could have investigated it without the baggage. They can't do the Frostfell that way. So, they went through the bother of finding a manager to run all of the details, which meant taking the time. It took him 4 months. They decided to just wait that out rather than take on a task that might make them miss the deadline. So, 1/3rd of a year blasted away in 10 minutes game time.

Item creation accounts for about 1/3rd of a year as well. They lost a month captured in Khyber. And so on.

Heh. Currently my players are all over the place, time wise. They discovered a series of tunnels below Sharn that lead to many different places in space / time. Including alternate timelines and completely different worlds.

Of course they will only get to play with them for a little while before finding out that jumping around the space/time continuum is going to cause major troubles and they'll have to fix everything. :D

It's been about 1.5 years since 998. Sora Maenya was killed by my PC's. They're actually minor celebrities for it (http://www.ironcrown.com/ICEforums/index.php?topic=2085.msg28477)

My first campaign that ran for 18 months and got as far as 1001YK. King Borrenal was assassinated and replaced by a Karrnathi changeling spy. House Thuranni was all but over thrown, but not the mark was not eliminated. The gray mists of the Mournland expanded further into Breland, Karrnath, and Thrane.

I started a new campaign about 3 months ago that started 4 years before the Day of Mourning. The game is currently in Zarantyr 998YK.

Yeah, but have you translated Air Bud to Eberron yet?I made tentative steps towards it. I first considered what sports Eberronians would play.

My campaign is about a year into the timeline. I went with the whole Cannith civil war / 2nd War of the Mark idea. Basically, Merrix had the other two leaders of the house assassinated and then attempted to use his army of new and improved warforged to take over sharn and declare it a free city-state. This led to New Cyre declaring its independence from Breland, and Boranel making a deal with Darguun to bring them to heel. In Sharn, Merrix's actions have caused the nobility and the other Dragonmarked houses to take sides. The PCs were originally working for both the Citadel and Merrix and got betrayed by both so they went and worked for the Borromars until the halflings sided with the Tains and the Citadel. Now, the pcs are leading a coalition faction of whats left of Tarkanan, Daask, several mid-level noble families, Medani, Tharashk and Deneith (which has also split). The PCs have inadvertantly set off a race war between the Shifter community (which is ghetto-ized) and the Sharn gov. Darguun is attempting to organize a fifth-column in the cogs.
The Swords of Liberty, which I portray as something akin to the Comintern, have gotten involved and are attempting to both come to an agreement with the pcs' "Freedom Faction" and curtail both the pcs' and Darguun's growing influence in the cogs and lower sharn. Basically I'm patterning the political situation off of what happened in Beirut during the civil war (I think there were something like 17 different factions fighting for the city). The pcs recently brokered a cease-fire between the four main factions in the city and are awaiting Boranel to arrive to attempt to hammer out a lasting settlement. However, in the last session the pcs came across some evidence that Merrix and the Swords are planning on assassinating Boranel once he enters the city and are not sure where they are going from here...
Sharn will most likely end up as something of an international free city, along the same lines as the Orange counties did in Europe. I'm not sure if Boranel is going to die yet but the Cyran rebellion in the east is causing him a lot of problems and his military, which is powerful, is split along two fronts and most soldiers have problems with the prospect of fighting either cyrans or their own countrymen.
Regarding the Dragonmarked houses, Boranel has declared the Korth Edicts void and has started putting both political and military pressure on the houses, a policy taken up by Kaius and Thrane, but the Queen of Aundair has sided with the houses and is attempting to protect them to a certain degree.
Basically the situation is a lot more tense than in the book but the nations themselves are doing everything they can to not start up The Next War. However, the Houses are doing a good job of taking out each other even without national militaries to back them up.

Currently I'm stuck back in the past during between the Age of Dragons and the Age of Demons. I'm trying to get back...to the future, but my PC's a warforged so I'm really in no hurry.

A week. Took about three months of sessions, and they're a week into the timeline. It takes a while to get from Sharn to Thrane via the forest the centaurs live in. Next stop, the Talenta Plains!
