Uratoh 09-29-07, 12:21 AM	It's something I'm hammering out for the 'welcome to epic' turning point of the campaign...I plan for it to go for about 5 more levels before they resolve this and save the world, retire, etc. Mialese Miron has taken over Thrane as the Keeper, and instigated a massive war...the PCs, along with loyal paladins, Shulashtar, a rescued Jaela, etc, will attack Flamekeep and pierce to the chamber of the flame, battling rahskasae, demons, etc on the way. Once there, they will find Miss Miron in the middle of a ceramony...her best minions will advance and a battle will begin, with Mialese tossing a spell here and there when she can spare a round. When the fight seems about to reach a climax, she finishes her spell...by stabbing herself in the heart with a dagger. engulfed in black flames, her body turns to ash. The flame itself begins to flicker, and die...as a brilliant white light appears in Mialese's ashes...a human female, in full plate armor, wielding a sword of purity. The spell was a potent epic ritual that can revive any deceased, even the unwilling, so long as a blood relative of theirs willingly sacrifices their own life to power it. Tira Miron's revival is but the beginning...for without the keystone, the seal soon breaks, Flamekeep begins to collapse as a black flame shoots out, bursting through the roof, as the sealed Rajah erupts in his newfound freedom. Tira will sprout spectral rainbow wings (she's 'more' than just Tira, sort of tira-couatl conglomeration at this moment) and battle...ultimately struck down against even the just-released Lord of Dust. Her body falls to the ground, her sword sticking in the rubble. Jaela will be drawn to the sword (and it's up to the PCs to protect a 3rd lv Cleric as she goes for it from all sorts of nastyness as the Rajah gloats above). Taking the sword restores Jaela's Keeper powers, as bursts of light shoot out from it, striking each PC and bestowing them with a blessing based on what they are, awakening inherent powers to help them. Jaela will whisk them away with a granted Gate spell, and they will find that thanks to the couatl, they are shielded, at least temporarily, from detection. What's more, the couatl will also tell them a longshot to weaken the Rajah, while his power is immense and unfathomable, he is yet still weak from constant battle and imprisonment...enough so that he is relying on several fonts of power across the world. If his connection to these fonts can be severed, quickly, he may be weakened enough to be defeated and sealed once more. First off, I realize I might need to involve the PCs more at parts of it, that's what fine tuning is for. It's a few levels off yet, anyway. In terms of what the PCs would get for their b lessings, it would be sort of 'free templates' type of deal...one PC is currently playing a Stone Giant going into the Knight class, but with very low charisma, to help him he will get the Primordial Giant template combined with the Stone Giant Elder abilities, trading a fraction of his might for the will to use his newfound strength. (I talked to him, he's a DM too, and mentioned the possiblity of a boon, but not the circumstances. He's finewith losing 4 Str for essentially +8 Cha.

Uratoh 09-29-07, 05:51 AM	Who is Mialese Miron? Well I likely misspelled her first name, but her last name implies she's related to Tira, and I'm going with it. She's often called the 'Black Flame Priestess', 500 years ago she showed up in Flamekeep claiming to be the REAL keeper of the flame, and denouncing the current one...she too had powers in Flamekeep. This caused much confusion until it was discovered that Miron's source of power was the Rajah imprisoned within the flame...it had found a way to make its own 'Dark Keeper'. They coulden't kill her, lest a new dark keeper emerge, so they turned her to stone and sent her to Dreadhold, where cannonically she remains to this day, and burried all evidence of her.
