| Stimpson Shortfellow06-28-04, 01:25 PM | OK i just finished looking over eberron, witch i love. I was wondering in eberron, do the prices for magic items decrease because magic is used for everything? What leads me to this question is that there is a table in the book that says a cure light wounds spell only costs 8 gp? So is there a reason to believe that a +1 Longsword will be cheaper? ---Stimpson |

Ans the amount would go up if you look at the amount of people able to create magical items. So minor magical items would be cheaper. But keep in mind that ebberon has virtually no one above level 12 so the normal and major items are simply nowhere to be found. |

The next 30% - the middle class - often have a few hundred in gold stashed away. And the remaining 10% - the rich, nobles, ect, often have thousands in gold readily available... All of which means that the average price can stay the same, but everyone has more purchasing power to buy with... |

I'll find it later if I have time. However, there are more magical things that average citizens can take advantage of, like the lightning rail and the airships. |

I'd say the prevalence of low-level magic makes the existing magic item prices finally make sense. Eberron's the first official campaign setting (other than Planescape) where I actually feel comfortable having potions be something players can find for sale in a shop, at the listed prices. |

| Axys06-29-04, 12:44 PM |:devil: I wouldn't give the PCs more starting $ than any other system.....make them work to earn it, like any other poor schmo on Eberron |
