Well, if im starting a new campaign with some players who has never tried Ebberon before, how much do i need to tell the players about the world?

I'd give full disclosure... let them each borrow the ECS and read as much or as little as they'd like to.

Otherwise, you need to explain about racial roles, and the countries they live in, history of the Last war and the countries involved. Major Religions (silver flame, blood of Vol, Mockery/Sovreign host) The Dragonmarked houses.

Most of this information would be readily or at least mostly known by PCs.

if you do let them borrow the book as them to please not read the Adventure, the Monsters and the Eberron Campaign chapter so they don't ruin stuff for themselves.

As much information as you think is neccessary for them to know is the right amount to tell them. They dont need to know everything, or in some circumstances anything.

You could make them hail from a remote village from the Eldeen reaches, and not even really tell them that they are playing in an Eberron game. And then just lay the other details on later. My group went 5 sessions before they saw an airship in the skies above Aundair, so it really didnt matter that I told them they exsisted because the really have no reason to be on one currently.
