StinkyNutz 07-26-04, 04:06 PM	I just made a whole bunch of 40th level npcs to run around and do stuff (Elminster and Drizzt are wusses compared to these guys). But the dilema I ran into was these guys were so powerful that evil was way outgunned....so I boosted up the power of the bad guys as well (threw in a herd of tarrasques just to be sure its fair). Well now the pcs die ever night, and all the cool stuff is done by the npc good guys....so the pcs and I sit around and watch tv. But its fixed, really it is.
Harmon 07-26-04, 04:18 PM	You are a moron. If you want to solve your problem, don't run your PC's into herds of Tarassaque's, Don't make 40th lvl NPC's, and play Eberron not Epic Stupidity for a group of level ones.

Pretty sure the herd (why yes I did say herd) of tarrasques and the sitting around watching tv would be enough, but I guess not...so here ya go... IT WAS MEANT AS A JOKE YOU FOOL!!!!!!! A snipe at all the threads with whinning powergamers who dont have Elminster or Drizzit to dry hump. Wow, and I thought my mom was dumb, you should win an award for continuing to breath. gg

There is nothing, NOTHING, you can say as a joke that someone esle hasn't said in absolute seriousness no matter how obviously absurd or ridiculous it is. You must bear in mind too that many people have hair-trigger defense mechanisms. Too many times have people taken offense at something which I assumed was so obviously a joke that a ;) was unnecessary.

Maybe if I said a 3rd level bard killed one, but then thats just way too obvious. I just need better writers...you hear that, you're all fired, the lot of ya!!!
debatedeus 07-26-04, 05:16 PM	One time I was playing under an illiterate DM and he had our level 1 group run into a sleeping tarrasque, so I took an NPC's Mercurial Greatsword and coup de graced him in the head. The tarrasque failed his fort save somehow (DC 62 or so) and the DM declared the Tarrasque dead. Then he said since there wasn't an XP award for that on our table he made us all level 5. I laughed and laughed and said nothing because I know that that shouldn't have killed the Tarrasque, and that we shouldn't have gotten anywhere near full XP for that....But oh the humanity.

There are "uber kewl" campaigns out there where a 3rd level bard killing a herd of Tarrasques is a just a warmup before breakfast. There are people who base there games on crap like Dragonball Z, where mountains are flatened by accident. They actually like this junk and think its "kewl" to play D&D like that. Never, ever, underestimate what total prats some people are.
