My favorite is the one who compares the players to a TV-series where each level is a episode. So each level grants the players a bit more fame and fortune. Now I prefer to sometimes have a mechanics for this. So I came up with this simple formula: Knowledge: (Nobility and Royalty) DC 20-ECL It can be used on NPCs as well, a sugestion is to make a NPC class count as a -0.5 modifier pr level. One could of course make given values to each npc class etc, but that is just work I don't even see a point in doing. Don't know if this is of any use to anyone, but hey I wont know if I don't post it. |

So I came up with this rule to see if the commoner from Aundair had heard of the short scary dwarf from the Endworld mountains. But thanks for the tip it is well appreciated. |
