05-25-06, 11:08 PM If you were going to adapt Eberron as a comic relief type game, what would you put in it? Silly ideas for characters, items, cities, villians, spells, or whatever else you can think of welcome.

The party is based in New New Sharn. They consist of a human male idiot from 1,000 years in the past, a size medium female cyclops, an evil warforged with a bag of holding in his chest, a male lobster shifter, an overweight male drow with dreadlocks, and a female dragonmarked heir of house Phluffy (bearers of the Mark of Cuteness). their benefactor is 150 years old Baron Merrix d'Cannith, a senile evil genius that makes the party deliver useless crap for menial pay in his sentient airship, the Khorvaire Express.

Agreed. Just keep away from Jaela. :D

Perhaps a group of Drow from Xen'drick challenge the crew to a game of Gnomeball, forcing them to use the custom super-warforged D'Cannith has been working on. That's just the tip of the iceberg. It would be hours of fun just seeing how you could adapt any episode of Futurama to Eberron, let alone coming up with your own.

Medium Female Cyclops: Monk 5 and SpaceAirship Captain 5
Evil Warforged: Level 10 thief
Male Drow: ???
Female: Aristocrat 3
Merrix: Level 100 artificer.
Idiot: Level 1 commoner

This sounds fun.

1. Modify NPC traits as found in DMG. Put new traits like Alcholic, Gay, Uses sexual inuendos, Has oversized genitels.
2. Modify some magic items and magical effcts (spells) used by NPCs and Villains.
---Instead of Command "Die!", use Command "Yearinate!"
---Put unusual enhancements on weapons, like love (elixir of love effect).
3. Modify plots. A male villain is in love with the mayor of Sharn. Or, one of the villains has a room full of slave boys dressed as girls.

I can see this working in one of my secondary on-going eberron campaigns.

The only problem is that no one would get the references (cookie to any one that does).

06-05-06, 07:53 PM One idea I had was to simply take the setting at face value, but amp up the "Magic as Technology" angle until you have magical equivalent of every modern device we now have (Magic Mirror TVs, Sounding Stone Telephones, Magic Crystal Computers, etc). Then have everyone behave more like modern people...

...Aw Heck, just take X-Crawl and adapt it to Eberron and you have exactly what I'm talking about. :P

To the first one: they'd have to be nicer. And the monsters in Droaam would have to be nicer.

To the second: no. You have to make up Rincewind on your own. There is no character in the whole of D&D that replicates him.

True, but suddenly finding himself mistaken for Mordain the Fleshweaver, in his tower, and having to fake his way through the situation is exactly the sort of thing that would happen to Rincewind. Think there's anything in Mordain's dungeons that can stand up to The Luggage?

It's just you and a wall of enemies with almost nothing for cover; IIRC you have to stay alive for a set period of time ... I've never survived long enough....
