| ENHenry07-14-04, 11:39 AM | I have a reading assignment for you. Don't worry, it's fun. :) Take one of your favorite adventure novels or adventure movies - it could be a D&D novel, a fantasy novel, Indiana Jones, a modern-day novel - doesn't matter. Look for the most common thread in that novel - globe-spanning to recover an artifact, shutting down a trade blockade, et cetera. Strip down the adventure to its bare essentials and use it. Eberron is about making the PC's heroes amid a setting of ordinary men and women, but with extraordinary evildoers to stop. Furthermore, www.blackmask.com contains a huge selection of free public domain pulp short stories and novels from the 1920's and 1930's - just the kind of inspiration you might want. Start with Doc Savage to find out just how an Adventuring party might work together in such a setting. :) Hope that helps get your ideas going! |
