So anticipation almost became unbearable over the summer, but finally the time has come that we started our game in Eberron! And I absolutely LOVE it! Although we have only played through the first half of The Forgotten Forge, I'm already deeply in love with the new setting. Let me tell you guys a little bit about my game (as people who are in love tend to do, talk exhaustingly about the object of their affection): One of my players is the already somewhat stereotypical House Cannith Artificer from Cyre, but the great thing about it is the potential loyalty conflicts. Already he is being persuaded by Lady Elayne (or something) to join the Aundair faction, which his Warforged buddy got some problems with. He is more the loyal type. Without the other players knowing it, the party also includes a House Thuranni spy, set to spy on the dealings of House Cannith. You guys might think this could be a liability, but I'm pretty certain my players are mature enough to handle it and also that the player in question will, if it ever comes to pass, put his loyalty to the party before his House-loyalty. You see, all these innerparty roleplaying oppurtunities never really found their way into our game before Eberron, in which it comes almost naturally. That might actually be the thing I love most about Eberron. Well I won't tire you any longer with my ranting, can't wait to play again this Sunday. Tijmen |
