| Master Elf of Nuvenor02-28-05, 08:49 PM | I've recently run low on $$$, so if anyone has the Eberron Campaign Setting, would they mind posting all the racial abilities, stats, and other related statistics pertaining to the changeling? P.S. Is posting stats on this board illegal? |
| Gurv02-28-05, 09:22 PM | No, posting that information isn't legal. Here or anywhere else. And if you were willing to take information illegally (which I am sure you're not) this would be the first place to go if you wanted to get caught. I will say this much: make your character using whatever knowledge you have of changelings. When you get wherever you are playing, look it up in another player's ECS. The alterations you will have to make will be minimal. |
| Euangelion02-28-05, 09:38 PM | If you can't find the ECS, they're also in MMIII. |
| jnosh03-01-05, 12:16 AM | When I'm strapped for cash and need stuff from books my friends or I don't own I go to Border's and look it up. |
| Master Elf of Nuvenor03-01-05, 05:26 PM | As to Gury, I'm not a jack-ass! I was simply asking whether or not it was illegal. If it was, I wouldn't mind being told by the WotC MB staff for God's sake. To the rest of you, I didn't ask what you did when you ran clean out of spending money, I ASKED IF SOMEONE HAD THE GAME RULE STATS FOR THE CHANGELING!!! Whew. . . Now, does anyone have this info? If so, now that I know it isn't illegal, will they please post it? :waits: |

He did not call you a jack-ass, only answered what you asked 3. If you want legal advice, contact WotC themselves or a lawyer, not board members. 4. Only a fool berates good advice. |
| Master Elf of Nuvenor03-01-05, 06:06 PM | This is directed to Vharuck, or whatever the hell his name is: I know that Gurv (got his name right this time, didn't I?) didn't call me a jack-ass, but. . . FORGET GURV!!! I ASKED FOR THE CHANGELING MATERIAL!!! IF YOUR GOING TO GIVE ME THE STUFF THEN DO SO! IF NOT THEN GET YOUR PICKY NOSE OUT OF MY THREAD!!!!!!! |
| DolArrah03-01-05, 06:51 PM | Please, don't get angry. No one is going to give you stats. It is illegal. I would do like they said and go to a book store to see the changleing. Sorry. You won't get them Also, don't get so angry at those who want to help you. They answered your questions. |
| Siduakal03-01-05, 07:04 PM | Or call a friend in your play group who has it, your DM at the very least should. Someone in your group, if it's Eberron, has the ECS. If it isn't Eberron, try Monster Manual III.. it has Changeling info too. |
| Master Elf of Nuvenor03-01-05, 07:16 PM | Sorry for the way I reacted to you all, I didn't think what I was saying until I reread my own posts. Please forgive me for getting upset. I am working on a homebrew campaign, and I wanted to add changelings to the campaign, but I have neither the money, nor the books that withold the information concerning the race. I've tried copying the info from my local gamestore, The Gameboard, and the staff told me to leave (They took the notebook I was writing in as well, and afterwards, kicked me out the store and told me to buy the book if I wanted the information in it. So, now I've lost a perfectly good notebook and don't know where to go to get the changeling stats fast!) Another Apology for the way I acted. That is all. |

Try going to Barnes and Noble or Borders, they don't stop you from taking merchandise to the cafe area or sitting down with it in their chairs. You should easily be able to copy the information without hassle. |
| Siduakal03-01-05, 08:10 PM | I personally own around 20 Memo pads, and small pens that extend outward to normal size to go with them. (Namely because if I feel inspired for poetry, I stop what I'm doing and write it down) But I've used it to get tidbits from a book. IE: A few variants from Unearthed Arcana. I always do it at barnes and Nobles.. and Memopads aren't noticed as often as notebooks. In fact, most people think nothing of a memopad, and if asked I just say I'm pricing a few things for a shopping list. |

I was trying to answer before anyone could make the mistake of giving the information out, which as others have stated would be illegal. I was typing quickly because I didn't want anyone to get in trouble for posting copyrighted information (in a forum where the very owners of that information post!), and I may not have made my motivations clear. So, no hard feelings. Normally I wouldn't be such a pain about sharing gaming info, but I also have a lot of respect for the particular authors involved. Keith especially, who I think deserves every cent that comes to him. Again, if you are not interested in the setting (it's really good though), maybe you should consider picking up Races of Eberron when it comes out. It has the information you're looking for, plus more. |
| Raede03-01-05, 10:02 PM | As long as I don't copy directly from the book, it isn't plagiarism. On that note, Changelings get no ability score changes and can use disguise self at will that doesn't affect clothing. They bluff well and get the racial bonus to that skill and are good at sensing motives...gaining the standard racial bonus amount to that as well. There ya go...no numbers, only vague concepts. This board is here to promote gaming and with something like the SRD released on the internet I doubt WoTC is that ****. Frankly, its just good business for him to get the stats, then he might interest his players in eberron and he or one of them might go buy the book. People post numbers on this board all the time...it really shouldn't be an issue. |
| WizO_Sith03-01-05, 10:58 PM | As has been pointed out, we do not allow the posting of WotC Copyrighted material on these forums for any reason. Even asking somebody to post privilaged WotC material is not only against the WotC Online Code of Conduct (http://www.wizards.com/coc), it is a crime. I absolutely gaurentee you that WotC takes unauthorized use of it's Copyrighted material 100% seriously. This thread will be locked. Do not restart it. *Click* |
