I called Barnes and Noble and Borders Books and Music here in Ohio, and they said that Races of Eberron is not due out into stores until May, but the site says April. This month? Do I have to order it online to get it this month? I'm very friggin' confused here...

You go to a gaming store to pick it up. It should be out around the 15-18 of this month at finer genre stores.

Traditional bookstores won't get it until May.

My local store has it coming out on 4/8, which is FRIDAY :D I think we have like 10 copies ordered, its gonna be a big seller

Yeah, I found a store pretty close by that is getting it in on Friday as well, with Lords of Madness. Can't wait for Races of Eberron. I love Eberron, but I'm about to play a campaign setting that this girl is making up. She enjoys making elaborate campaigns using bits and pieces of other campaign settings. She's allowing all the classes from Eberron, and all the races. I'm playing a Longtooth Ranger, but I want the Races of Eberron book so I can see the new cool stuff they have for Shifters. Shifters own you. ~_^

Just as a note, places like Barnes and Noble and Amazon frequently have the wrong release date for stuff like this. My FLGS says 04/08 and has reserved copies of both RoE and LoM for me.

Yeah, I've heard 4/8 as well.

I'd love to back you up on suport your FLGS, I love my FLGS, but www.gameoutfitter.com has such awesome prices and when I pre-order, it arrives in the mail on the day it arrives at you FLGS.

Not sure it would work if you pre-ordered this close to release, though.

I'd love to back you up on suport your FLGS, I love my FLGS, but www.gameoutfitter.com has such awesome prices and when I pre-order, it arrives in the mail on the day it arrives at you FLGS.
I took a look at the website. They have some incredibly low prices... but then you look at shipping, and the cheapest option is $8 (to CA at least). My local gaming store always offers a 10% discount off the shelf price of the books, which equalizes the two prices, but even without that, once you factor shipping in, there's not that big of a difference. Small enough to make it supporting the store as opposed to getting ripped off.

Yeah, I would love to support my FLGS, but there is only 1 left, and they never have any good stock. (though last weekend I bought GotEC, and D20 Past, and some more dice)
Chiba_Monkey

Yes, but I only paid $62 for the full set of all three 3.5 core ulrebooks, and that INCLUDED shipping. I'd say that when you have big orders, the lower prices definetely help.

Amazon also says May, but I think that there is some confusion here and the book will come out in April.

The most reliable sources, and those closest to the actual source (WotC) place the release at 4/8. I pray to the Flame, the Sovereigns, hell, even the Dark Six that this is the actual release date.

If you think Amazon release dates are bad, different branches of Amazon can't even agree on product descriptions.......

I tried to order Sharn:City Of Towers from Amazon.co.uk and they swore blind that in the UK it was going to be a PAPERBACK version - despite Amazon.com showing the exact same product, with the exact same ISBN, as a hardback.

I tried to explain that they had it wrong (via e-mail), but they flat refused to believe....!

So I ordered from the states........ (no good FLGSs anywhere in my region of the UK). The price saving on the book itself (coupled with the current exchange rate) meant I paid roughly the same as if I'd ordered from the UK anyway.
