G_O_D 09-26-06, 02:56 PM	I know this is not exactly an Eberron specific question, but I was wondering whether Dugeon Mastering for Dummies is a good resource or not. I have been DMing for a few years now but I feel I could be better. Thanks for your time and responses.
ekomega 09-26-06, 03:17 PM	I think the DMG 2 is a better resource. It really talks a lot about managing players, providing detail, coming up with ideas, etc.
Nived 09-26-06, 03:30 PM	I'll agree with Ekomega. I picked it up and flipped through it at boarders one day and wasn't all that impressed, I felt like I had read it all before. And probably had in the DMG, DMGII, and various Dungeon Magazine's I'd read over the years. My advice is to browse it, most bookstores, (like B&N, Walden, or Borders) have a spot you can sit and flip through it. See if you think it's worth getting.

Save-vs-DM 09-26-06, 03:54 PM	I'll second the DMG II over the dummies book (though I have a buddy who's getting the dummies book for christmas....) The DMG II has something for every level of DM. I found a few spots to be quite helpful, though other spots were review. I mostly picked it up just to have it, but it is a great book. That being said, the Dummies book is a great overview for new DMs - but I don't think there is anything in there that you couldn't learn by asking questions on the message boards. Cheers, Save vs DM
