zerotkatama 12-26-04, 10:03 PM	I need some ideas for letting a character in my game find a mentor to take psion classes. Details: We just started with Forgotten Forge, and I just got Sharn, so I have that to draw from. The character in question is a LN outcast memeber of house Deneith (from Karrnath) who suffers from amnesia. Outcast because he was framed in the assasination of a Karrnathi general he was supposed to be guarding. At the start of the campaign, he currently works in a smithy guild in Sharn. He keeps his Dragonmark covered with a glove. THe player wanted to start out as a psion, but I (not having Sharn at the time) said no, but I would be willing to compromise and give him Natural Talent from the XPH as a compromise, with the idea that he would develop his talents later. I also said, using the Psions=Wizards;Sorcerers=Wilders reasoning that if he wanted to be a Wilder, he would just manifest more. No, he wanted to be a Psion. So now I need some ideas for getting him a kalashtar or Adaran contact for psionic training. I am planning to use the compromised Deneith enclave in Sharn, being both from Deneith and seeking psionic training, he might be viewed with initial suspicion. I am split between the idea of him having to seek them out, or having a Kalashtar/Adaran just happen to be by when he manifests his single discovered power Any suggestions?
AvonRekaes 12-27-04, 07:44 AM	Perhaps it's the other way around? Maybe he sees a kalashtar using psionics and asks them for training? The character might have a basic understanding of the differences between magic and psionics because he possesses both. (A dragonmark and a Natural Talent) He might have been thinking that his Talent was unique in all the world, then he sees a kalashtar psion perform the same power (by coincidence), and it goes from there. The big kalashtar neighborhood is in Upper Dura, and it seems like they are a very insular people, but there is a shrine to the Path of Light in the university district in Upper Menthis. Perhaps the character whitnesses the kalashtar along one of the skybridges between the two wards.
