If you lived in Eberron: [Archive] - Wizards Community

First, I know this sort of thread is completely unrealistic, and that it will recieve a fair amount of "well, we'd all just be 1st level human commoners" comments. That aside, the purpose of this thread is to come up with an idealized version of yourself in Eberron- falling within the vauge parameters of realism presented by the ECS (Low-ish level, no divine rank, etc). So, what would you be in Eberron, were would you live, what would you do?

I'd be a true neutral half elf bard 3, possibly a worshiper of Aueron, studying at Morgrave in the pre-Galifar department, shooting to get himself a part on a Wayfinder expedition to Krezent in the Talenta plains, or some Dakaani ruins from the Daelkyr war.

Idealized?

(NG goblin archivist 7)

Really?

(CN human expert 5)

NG Gnome Wizard 6 who has difficulty/issues with gnome society (the trust and all that), but manages to survive...somehow.

In reality, I'd probably be a NG human expert 2.
Korhal_IV

01-01-06, 07:31 PM
I'd probably be a gnome expert 3, focused on politics, society, and culture of both modern day and ancient history. I'd probably be avidly keeping up on news from Xen'drik. I'd also be living in Aundair, near the Twelve, chatting about Zilargo over games of cards with students. I would have an insufferable Napoleonic complex.
sooperspook

01-01-06, 07:38 PM
Idealized? CG human bard/artificer/chameleon. probably a career student in Morgrave , going on 'field trips' to fund my ...er...studies :D .
Kalanth

01-01-06, 08:13 PM
Because of my present job. . .

A true Neutral Halfling Expert 4/ Fighter 1 of the house Ghallanda. But thats what you get for being a medical retiree from the military and switching to working Front Desk in a hotel.
Cutlass

01-01-06, 08:37 PM
Golly gee whiz, I have done so many different things and bounced around so much. However, given that this is idealized and fantasized ... :)

I'll go with being a chaotic good elf of Khorvairen stock from Breland, wizard 3/ rogue 3. A specialist in the study of Xen'drik who has been on a couple of expeditions over there and has some interesting tee shirts in his collection. Likely an adjunct professor of something or other at Morgrave.

01-01-06, 08:38 PM
Hmm... CG Shifter Expert 1/ Ranger 1, currently studying to be a naturalist at the University of Wynarn. I'd eventually want to begin cataloguing species in the Eldeen Reaches, then the Karrn wood before too many people move in and decimate the natural environment.

Real life: NG Human Expert 1, undergraduate Biology student.
ahiman

01-01-06, 10:44 PM
TN half elf sorcerer 7. Living in Galespyre. Going to university and living it up. Working some times in any thing where he can make money with little effort.

That or I was once told I would be a drow rogue. But I think that was an insult.

01-01-06, 10:46 PM
Idealized? Glidewing-riding CN Iredar Kobold Sorc 3 / Fighter 2 / Ranger 2 / Spellsword 3. Or better yet, an awakened glidewing. Or even better yet, one of those nifty flying kobolds.

Real? Human Magewright 2 somewhere in Sharn.
Kaoru Nagisa

01-01-06, 11:41 PM
In reality? I'm probably not level one yet... lol, still at the apprentice level of... erm... expert, probably.

Idealized? At this moment, I'd most likely be a level 2-3 Lawful Neutral (maybe good. The test I took said Lawful Neutral though) Human Wizard. I have the intelligence for it. Now, where would I be from? I'd probably be Brelish. Either that or Aundairan.

By now I'd be out in the world, travelling with a group of people who would most likely irritate me to no end. Of course, they'd still be my friends, after all. I'd be journeying for... well, many reasons and none at all.

Hmmm....I'd maybe be a N Gnome wizard/artificier contemplating the balance of power between Aureon and the Shadow. I would probably live in Korranburg, Zilargo and try to get an extended period of service there as a researcher. Or maybe I'd just get a job at one of the colleges.

01-02-06, 01:43 AM
I'd be a NG Aundarian Elven Ranger/Wizard who once studied at Arcanix, but was a draft dodger of the Last War and honed his skills in the Eldeen Reaches with my best friend, a swashbuckling rogue. I adventure to discover the lineages of my family and for wanderlust of course.

I love this thread. I think about this subject all the time, and it's so easy because pieces of Khorvair translate so easily into our world.

3rd Level LN Half-elf Ranger, House Dennith Bounty Hunter. I hunted bad guys all over the world before, so why not mix it up in Eberron.
Mr. VanderMeer

01-02-06, 11:07 AM
Idealized, I guess I would be a Dragonmarked (House Vadalis) Ranger2/Wizard8. A retired adventurer who now spend his days raising magebred animals somewhere on a big ranch in the Eldeen Reaches.

Realisticaly, I would probably be a human expert 3, working for house D'Sivis as an unimportant scribe. Underpaid and undervalued with very few options for advancements. But better at his work than my superiors. But since they are gnomes and I am not, I'll never get anywhere.
Isran_Imrador

01-02-06, 11:22 AM
Well as you all know i am a scion of House Lyrandar! Expert 2 / Bard 2 having a go for the DMH PrC when i finally get on that airship to Stormreach from Stormhome... ;)

Having studied Aerenal History & Xen`Drik Lore a few years in the Wynarn University back in Fairhaven.

Ahh, what happy years that was....And the Goblin babes arent that bad really...after a few Dragonmilks down in a back ally in the fair capital, goblin or elf, well they all look the same to me.... ;)

Realistically, I'd be a CG human magewrite 1/commoner 3 working at an inn in Ardev washing dishes to pay for my magic habit. (Computers and the internet will someday be the death of me...)

01-02-06, 12:22 PM
For Idealized I'd have to go with a 3rd level Wizard Changeling native to Breland, but attending Arcanix on a scholarship while trying to "study abroad" as much as possible.
tsukasa200422

01-02-06, 12:29 PM
I'd be a Kalashtart Psion 4, probably temporarily living in Sharn to take in all of its wonders, but then moving on to Wroat and after that slowly jumping from place to place until I get bakc home.

Tanvalis

01-02-06, 03:18 PM
Ideally? Well, I'd have to go with a Halfling Rover(ranger variant) 3, with the Least mark of Healing. Out and about to see the world with my close friends and of course my brother in arms, my dinosaur mount, attempting to become the best Thunderguide to ever sail the Thunder Sea.

Realalistically? Well, those tests say I'd be an Elven Fighter/Bard... Guess that I'd be working for Thurrani or Phialarn.

Idealistic: NG Human Artificer 4 / Sorcerer 4 with a Lesser Mark of Making who's affluence allows him to spend as much of his time traveling between the libraries of Korranberg and Arcanix as he likes, while writing freelance articles for the Chronicle, Ledger, and Inquisitive (under seperate ghost names).

Realistic: NG Human Magewright 2 / Expert 2 with a Least Mark of Making who slaves away at a Cannith forgehold while attending night classes in some shoddy 'college' and raising a family.

Yeah, they had one of these on the FR boards, and I thought we could use one for Eberron, I'm glad its working out so well.

Been thinking, if my idealized self wasn't that 3d level bard I mentioned in post one, and I could have a drasticaly higher then real life wisdom score- I'd certainly enjoy being a 5th level human (or maybe shifter) druid in the Reaches, being a thorn in the side of Aundair.

Idealy, a LG human paladin 5/Exorcist of the Silver Flame 1, but I doubt I could handle the alignment thing, or perhaps a NG elf bard 5/Dragonmarked Heir 1 of House Phiarlan. Either one sounds like fun, but in totally different ways. My wife would definately be a NG human or half-elf ranger 2/bard 4 with the Archery style and the Beast Totem (Unicorn) feat.

CG dwarven Wizard 7/Fatespinner 4

A Morgraive dropout, I wandered the world for a few years. finding and truly making use of my luck I begin to turn a profit as a mage for hire.
A year ago my traveling companion, a CG female Half Fey/human warlock 7/wild mage 2, finally accepted my proposal for marriage.
For the past 3 months we have been settling into life in Sharn, but our wanderlust is kicking in again and i've heard rumors of an expedition to an ancient Coatl temple deep in the jungles of Xen`Drik. now how to talk Brightjoy into going?

LG Human Bard 2/Wilder 1
Born in a small town outside of Sharn then moved to the big city as a child. My father was in the War as a medic forcing us to move around often. I picked up bits of information here and there where I could, tying everything I learned into my music. We moved back to Sharn after the War and I was discovered by a Kalashtar Psion who awakened me to the pathways of the mind. She had to leave unexpectedly leaving me to discover things in my haphazard way.

From the test I've been judged as a Strong and Dextrous, but fairly unwise and charismatic LN Half-orc Monk. Most likely I would be a LN Hobgoblin Fighter or Human fighter from Karnnathi, 3rd-5th level.

As a Hobgoblin I would most likely be a member of one of the Dhakaani clans, I would be on the rise to power, as I would be traveling with other Dhakaani either searching for lost artifacts, or hunting the Dealkyr minions.

As a Karnnathi, I wouldn't be very popular at first as I would most likely detest the BoV. But my war record would have kept me from being hung for treason, as I would actively be seeking distance among Karnnath and BoV. I would see the undead legions as only a neccessity and would praise the day that they would be laid to rest. I would also banter on about the day the Karn Empire will rise up from the ashes of the dead to renewed strength and lay waste to the armies of my enemies.

Another option is I would be an NG Aundair Warmage, who served only a year or two in the Last War. Horrified with the politics and the Last War I would probably seek refuge in Breland or the Eldeen Reaches, but would protest alliegence to Aundair's people, and not the crown. I would admire Breland for their parliment, and openness, especially to the Cyran refugees. I would even probably be living on the Mourneland Border, helping those who had suffered so much from the Last War, and actively seek, in a known futile attempt, that the other nation set aside land for the kingdom of Cyre to be rebuilt.

If I had choice of race I would definitely go for changeling. I'd want to be a spellcaster, but I'm too lazy to be a wizard, not religious enough to be a cleric. I'll go for Psion or Warlock.

Or perhaps cleric of Vol. :D I dig the philosophy of overcoming death. The fact that undead scare the bejeebus out of me would just be one of those funny Character Quirks that are neat to roleplay.

I figure I could quickly get a comfortable life for myself using my wondrous knowledge of secrets of What's Going On (from reading the Eberron Books. Or is this meta-knowledge not allowed in this hypothetical situation?)

According to an online alignment tester I'm chaotic evil, for some odd reason. Perhaps because I don't believe in giving money to beggars and would honestly keep $1000 gold if I found it on the ground.
MrFilthyIke

Ideally: LG Dwarven Fighter 2/Monk 6 (according to the tests) aiming for Master Inquisitive, and fond of using my magical longspear with Serpent's Strike . An expatriate from d'Kundarak due to a failed mission while I was younger. (The vault was robbed! On my watch!) I tracked the rotter from the Mror Holds across all of Khorvaire and even Xen'drik. Eventually, I caught up to him in Sharn, where I set up shop after <ahem> settling the scores. ;) I own a discreet little shopfront (with apartment behind) in Clifftop which I purchased with my reward monies. I do discrete work for the Watch, although I'm considering a trip back to Xen'drik, this time for pleasure, not business.
Realistically: Dwarven Bard 1/ Artificer 1 with maxxed out ranks in Perform (Singing(Bad)) and Knowledge (Trivia). And a penchant for long, sharp pointy things. :D

No matter what, for me.. (Both Idealized and Reality) I would be a Half-Orc Bard... Yes... Half-Orc not.. Human. But to add to idealized, I would only have a few levels of Bard and tons of Druid levels... Though as a Real person, mostly one or two levels in bard.. none of the NPC classes really fit me..... not even expert. I'm just too Fascinating.
Though my race might switch between Half-Orc and Shifter. I'm too much like them to be Human...

This has to be the greatest personal description I have ever heard. I am using this from now on. :)
