Impressed with response to missing pages [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-19-04, 01:53 PM I'm impressed that of the people who have posted about getting Eberron with missing pages, no poster that I've read has gotten really angry. With the errors in Complete Divine, posters on the Future boards went ballistic, and those errors weren't nearly as bad as missing pages.

I hope Wizards takes back all the misprinted books and replaces them. I know this will cost them a lot, but if this info is true I think they owe the customer a good product. And Eberron is good, even if some of the books got printed wrong on the first run.

Kudos to you if you received a book missing pages and politely posted here. I'm impressed that posters on the Eberron boards react so well to stress!

06-19-04, 01:57 PM Thats because this is a printing error and Complete Divine was a Editing error you can miss a printing error much easier than you can a editing error because you do look at ever word in a book when you edit but not at ever book when you print

But i kinda agree i'm surpised noone has went insane over it yet

There is a difference... Maybe. Both can be careless accidents. Both can be understandable mistakes.

Editing (one "t" ;)) is more difficult than you might think, and many perfectly understandable mix ups can occur by the time something is sent for printing. And the same thing can be said of the process of going from the editing room to the printers.

And, in either case, who is to blame is no simple matter. The editor may not be fully to blame for editing mistakes, and those running the printers may not be fully to blame for a printing mistake. The fault can lie elsewhere.

06-20-04, 05:07 PM After nearly buying a copy of complete divine with the cover on upside down and backwards, (not to mention the errors I did get stuck with), I'm going to check every thing I buy from wizards from now on. Although it does suck that this crap is happening, because I live in a small town, and if the few copies of a new book come in "damaged" than I have to wait forever to get books. Hopefully this trend does not become a habit.

06-20-04, 07:20 PM I always check the condition of gaming books before buying them. You never know if you'll pick up a misprint, or if some grubby person smeared chocolate on a page, or a few pages got torn/folded/mutilated.

06-21-04, 10:08 AM I'm also glad to see that the people on these boards have remained cool-headed about this. It's really an issue with the printer, though it sounds like WotC needs to keep a more careful eye on their printer in the future.

When I heard about this problem, my first reaction was to hope it didn't result in a backlash against the setting. So far, it seems not to have.
