| concerro09-03-05, 05:40 PM | I am playing a warforge and I have improved fortification which means I critical hits only count for standard damage but the side affect is I can not be healed by magical means. If I take the reforged prestige class I am supposed to be able to heal naturally at reforge 1st level, at rf 2nd level I am supposed to heal also by magical means(these are class abililities for the prestige class). At 3rd level which I am not taking I lose all armor to include the composite plating and I dont get a penalty to spellcasting. My question is if I am supposed to gain the ability to heal by magic because of my race, but my feat says I cant heal does the feat overide the prestige class or does the class ability allow me to heal by magic and still be immune to critical hits. My DM has been trying to decide on this for about a week now. |

Keith or someone would be fit to answer this one... :P I think getting his point of view is better than having everyone having mixed opinions and this thread having controversy... lol... :P |
| Arcane Guyver09-03-05, 07:08 PM | I don't have the book with me, but I'm pretty sure there's some text for the Reforged that says it overrides all feats that make the 'forged more 'construct-ish.' |
| Radkres09-03-05, 07:14 PM | You lose the feat when you gain Second step in Reforged can be healed magically at second level which negates improved fortification feat. |

| concerro09-03-05, 08:37 PM | thanks |
| Save-vs-DM09-03-05, 09:00 PM | Improved Fortification renders you immune to healing from the healing subschool. Thus when you gain Magical Healing you get the full effect of immunity, which is nothing. You forever loose the ability to be healed by Conjuration [Healing] spells. Magical Healing doesn't say anything about gaining the ability to be healed by Conjuration [Healing} spells, it only says that you "gain the full benefit of any magical healing applied to you." The full benefit of nothing is still nothing. Sorry, this little trick will not work. Cheers, Save vs DM |

| ChronosCrow09-04-05, 01:52 PM | I'd say a no. It's due to the nature of the ideas I say this. I think Save-Vs-Dm makes a great rules argument and agree with him too. But also, the ideas are that improv frot is there to make you more like a construct and reforged is there to make you more humanoid. Thusly, the two can not be overlapped. |

Yeah... but I was thinking the Improved Fortification feat doesn't go until the 5th level of the class... (I'd still like Keith's view.. sorry guys..., I want to hear it from the cows own mouth) LOL :D :D :D |

You're much better of just sending the question to WoTC here: http://wizards.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wizards.cfg/php/enduser/std_alp.php Click "email us" and then log in, I think you might need a new id and pass to get through, the boards one might not work. |
