In the beginning, there were thirteen gods... [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-15-05, 10:28 PM Just tell me if this has been pointed out before.

I was talking with my buddy online about the sovereign host/the dark six. He commented that a "bible" of the sovereigns and dark six could be really interesting. That got me reading the individual descriptions, and figuring out which gods would be around before all the interesting stuff happened (The Devourer ...creating... The Fury). Assuming that some members of the dark six were once sovereigns:

There were thirteen.

There are nine sovereigns. Three, the devourer, the keeper and the mockery, have clear links to being related to the nine sovereigns. The Fury was spawned by the Devourer, the Shadow from Aureon.

That leaves us with twelve initial sovereigns, plus the mysterious form of the Traveller.

10-16-05, 10:33 PM It would be funny if the Soverign Host and the Dark Six were actually in fact dragons who ascended to power so much using the Dragonic Prophecy that they became almost god-like, taking the first step in becoming the equals of Khyber, Eberron, and Siberyis, wouldn't it? And that that was the reason why there are in fact 13 different planes of existance, dragonmarks, etc.

It's not uncommon to see the Sovereigns (and D6) represented as dragons, and there is at least one sect that claims that they are, in fact, ascended dragons. But as with all things tied to the gods, the truth of it is a mystery.
