| Neofish09-06-04, 12:13 AM | Sup everyone, i'm just reposting this for future readers. Please, be free to comment and add to this crazy theory. -Neofish- Dreadhold contains the true heir? Does Dreadhold contain the true heir of Karrnath? I was reading the Lhazaar section and under Improtant Sites it describes Dreadhold, the great prison of the five kingdoms. Anyway, under the description says that rumors say that the prison holds a very important prisoner from Karrnath. It states under the Karrnath section that Kaius I replaced Kaius III, but exactly does replaced mean? Is Kaius III housed at Dreadhold? What do you think? please share. 08-22-04 05:24 AM -Rajorke- or maybe dreadhold holds the true heir of the Kingdom of Galifar. __________________ -Saurenda- Oh, that is a great deduction! The true hier of Karranth. I was thinking along the lines of priest of the Blood of Vol, but this is even better. I'd give you extra action points if you were in my RPG. *huggles* __________________ -DarkerDreams- in the ask kieth thred he suggested there's a clue to the location of Kius III is on pg 187 of the ECS... it appears that would be the page you're referring to. __________________ -Neofish- Well... what can I say... A master inquisitive is never satisfied until the case is solved! -DarkerDreams- just saying that there seems to be ample evidence you're on the right track. __________________ -Dex The King- Kaius III, the real one, fits the bill of the "special" prisoner exactly. In my opinion, the evidence is conclusive, but that's just what I think. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees it that way. -Teslacoil1138- I had thought the point obvious, but that's just me. It leads you to wonder how Kaius III would feel toward his grandsire, and what he'd do if he ever got out of Dreadhold somehow... I could see Kaius III allying himself with the Blood of Vol and the Emerald Claw to bust him out of the prison, and then going back to Karrnath to reclaim his rightful rulership. I might just use that in my campaign heehee... __________________ |

| Neofish09-06-04, 12:41 AM | Sweet dude. Look foward to your update. :D |
| Rajorke09-06-04, 02:18 AM | One thing that bothers me about this situation is all of Kaius III's immediat family. Do they know that Kaius is not really Kaius or where they involved in his imprisonment? And if they weren't involved are they trying to free him? |
| Neofish09-09-04, 12:49 AM | I don't think Kaius has any immediat family. |
| Rajorke09-09-04, 01:08 AM | yes he does the ECS says he has a wife ill have to get my book before can get her name but its there |
| Brastan09-09-04, 01:22 AM | Charm and enchantment spells could play a role here. I forget how long a vampires dominate ability last for and how many can be affected. If the wife was weak will (less likely in my view) then she would easily succumb to a vampire as old as Kaius I. Although it could be ambition on the wife's part. What if she even helped with her real husbands replacement. I would think if she was a social climber there's no body better that the man who Was Karrnath. What if she's now a vampire as well, under his control as a spawn or free willed and looking to take over? |
| Rajorke09-09-04, 01:34 AM | Ahh... the beautiful victorian horror laced intrique of Karrnath |
| sheik09-10-04, 12:23 PM | Hi Neofish, would you be willing to re-post your original idea, or a link to the original thread? I'm curious to read it, as I have an interest in Karrnath. Thanks, dana. |
| Rajorke09-11-04, 01:15 AM | Neofish's first post here contains the original thread |
| Dex The King09-11-04, 09:59 PM | According to the ECS, Kaius' wife Ergatani is an elf from Aerenal. It seems as though she met him on am diplomatic function, and the two of them forged a lasting relationship. She does know that he is a vampire, she's listed as CG alignment, and she has tried to overcome her cultural bias towards undead (like vampires). Now, she must either honestly love Kaius, or be in the marriage for her own reasons. Whatever her reasons are (if she has any) is unknown. |
