Just an idea, but I was thinking about Incarnum in Eberron, including how to introduce it, I have some ideas, this is the basic idea.

Incarnum magic is as old as the three dragons, the powers of incarnum come from tapping their raw essence. It is their power that infuses the souls of their children, those that know how to touch the might of their history can feel the power of the soul and tap it. The dusklings are the children born of Kybers soul, the Rilkans of Eberron and the Skarn of Syberris. The Rilkans and skarn have a racial emnity for slightly different reasons, Khyber placed a curse upon them, if the two races united there would be a destruction of the deeper darkness as the true memories would be unlocked and the might of the prophecy would be foretold. Kept separate they cannot touch that power or knowledge correctly. Totemist magic was discovered and developed during the age of goblins, the goblin Totemists stood alongside the orcish druids to help to battle the beings from beyond the gates. Incarnates and Soulforged came from the giants, the knowledge can be gained from the giants or drow. Some of the Aerenal elves know of it as well, but they have reservations about the power for reasons unknown. It was the giants who used the incarnum to create the warforged, their souls are the calls to Incarnum, forged to become true souls within those shells. They, with enough time and perhaps a true leader, can create a true afterlife for themselves, and this is also why the Lord of Blades is as dangerous as he is, he learned of Incarnum and has made himself into something akin to a god within the Mournlands.

Just an idea, comments appreciated.

I like the concept and how you gave a slightly different origin to the different classes. It ties in nicely to the setting.

Personally, while I think that I'm going to use Incarnum in my game, I'm not planning on using the races at this point. The dusklings might work for a Khyber race, but I just don't feel the need for any of them in my game.

Nice job though. :)

Thanks, one of the key ideas that I get in Incarnum, and Eberron for that matter, is that the true strength lies in unity. In standing with your people and your faith. When personal ambition and pride get mixed in things get ugly and painful, hence my ideas for why the disruptions and what would happen if united.
