hi!
I really liked the mechanics and the new classes presented in 'tome of battle', but I think that the book's flavor doesn't go well with eberron flavor. Any ideas or suggestions on how to incorporate the book in a good way into eberron??
thanks!

I think the classes go well in eberron, like they would in any setting. They give the melee characters the oomph of the spellcasters. The only part of the book I don't plan on using is the nine swords themselves.

Don't let the names of the disciplines or maneuvers steer you, they are just that, names. Desert Wind maneuvers are not restricted to, or favored by, the Valenar, nor the Stone Dragon to dwarves, nor the Tiger Claw to Shifters, etc.

I really don't see any problem putting the ToB into Eberron. Maybe you could elaborate on your hesitation?

Well, personally, I can see the nation of Aundair have quite a knack for Blade Magic. They're both magically adept and they value swordplay, so I imagine that if you wanted to gently introduce the book into Eberron, that would be one of the first nations I'd look at.

I imagine that Rekkenmark also has a few instructors that can teach martial maneuvers, especially those of the White Raven and Iron Heart disciplines.

If you wanted to get a bit more...ancient, then look no further than the Book of Nine Swords itself. They say that Hobgoblins were one of the first to discover and found blade magic, and guess what, hobgoblins were the basis of an ancient empire in Eberron. Using that logic, blade magic might have been in Eberron all along, though mostly lost after the planar invasions long ago. Perhaps the Dhaakani Empire is just now rediscovering its own lost art.

But like Giarc says, a bit more information on your hesitation could help us help you.

IMC, I've made the hobgoblins of the Dhakaani clans followers of the Sublime Way, based on the same the logic that Save-vs-DM used. Their greatest fighters are warblades, and they've been honing their art for a very long time in their underground fortresses.

well, thank you for your comments!
I was most concerned about the classes. the crusader fits perfectly in the silver flame. but the description of the swordage is more a about a loner who travels the word in search of knowledge and perfection in the sublime way. and the warblade is more about glory, honour. I don't see these concepts fitting well into eberron.
anyway, putting some blade magic schools in awndair and rekkenmark is a great idea. any suggestions about breland in the subject?

I'd also like to read how did you insert tome of battle in your campaigns.

Breland, being a very accepting land, would be a prime place where followers of the Sublime Way could thrive. I can imagine a martial arts school somewhere in Sharn that's run by an wise old Dhakaani hobgoblin warblade who trains his students with a focus on the Iron Heart discipline. Another school (perhaps the two schools are rivals) might be run by mysterious elf swordsage (actually a House Thuranni excoriate who has been charged with the crime of murdering his own brother) who teaches the Setting Sun and Shadow Hand disciplines. Of course, these teachers can also teach other disciplines open to them, but they focus on certain ones.

I've incorporated the Tome of Battle into my Eberron campaign in order to make it a little more interesting. I'm DMing a campaign that involves the Dhakaani clans being united through conquest by one clan that worships the Dragon Below. It's the Red Hand of Doom adventure, modified to fit into Eberron and extended to last from 1st to 20th level. Their best warriors are warblades who focus on the Iron Heart discipline.

When ToB was released, I was a bit leary to allow it in my campaign. However, the more I read, the more I liked it. The various class and disciplines fit so nicely into the various cultures of Eberron.

what was #1 on the list of things to remember in the Eberron handbook? "If it has a place in dnd, it has a place in Eberron." I think that pretty much awnsers the question as to if TOB is usable in Eberron.
