| ArthurQ01-02-05, 05:23 AM | Here is a log of the chat folks! Special thanks to polt for cleaning it up for us! ----------------------------- <BrooklynKnight> <Zedium> alright, one from me "What is your favourite Sharn area, and why?" <Keith Baker> Last thought on the previous question - followers of the Silver Flame and the Undying Court will have a stronger negative reaction. <KeithBaker> As for the new question... <KeithBaker> That's a tough one. <KeithBaker> By area, how broad or narrow are you looking for? A business, district, or quarter? <BrooklynKnight> go ahead and clarify Zedium <Zedium> ok, I think you can go down from quarter, to your favorite district of that quarter, to your favorite business of that district <KeithBaker> My favorite quarter would be Dura, as shown by the Race of Eight Winds dragonshard. My goal with the shard was to expand on some of the social differences between the districts and the personalities of the typical residents. <KeithBaker> I think Dura has a lot of possibility for adventure, being the roughest district at the bottom but still having respectible areas at the front. <KeithBaker> Within Dura, it's a tough call between Fallen and Malleon's Gate, but I'll have to go with Malleon's Gate - to find out why, read my novel when it comes out in February. <BrooklynKnight> <Streamweaver> Specialty mages seem to have few options in terms of Wizard Circles in Sharn and the specialty seems to imply a political outlook, what is say a lawful illusionist to do for a society, why are Necromancers left out in the cold? <KeithBaker> Hmm. <KeithBaker> The Wizard Circles have traditions to uphold. <KeithBaker> So a lawful illusionist may have friends in the Esoteric Order - but by the charter of the circle, he cannot join. Illusion was considered to be a "shifty" subject by the founders. <KeithBaker> A lawful illusionist could offer his services to the King's Dark Lanterns, to a house guild, seek entry into the Twelve or Arcane Congress, or set up his own business; there are a few independent wizards mentioned in the book. <KeithBaker> So it's less that specialty requires a political outlook as it is political outlooks having a view of specialties. <KeithBaker> As for necromancy, most people find it a disturbing and repellent art. <KeithBaker> It was, however, studied by the Closed Circle, so once upon a time there was an offical forum for its study. <KeithBaker> Necromancy is also studied by the Twelve and the Arcane Congress, but the Arcane Congress generally stays away from anything involving the creation of undead. <KeithBaker> Karrnath is the only nation that has really embraced magic dealing with undead. <BrooklynKnight> Comment: I wish people would realize that necromancy is more then just undeath. Its the arcane link to the forces of the universe that control life as well. There can be good necromantic spells. :-p Thats just my two cents... <KeithBaker> (For what it's worth, the Aereni are not actually against necromancy - simply the creation of negatively charged undead) <KeithBaker> (What you said, BK) <BrooklynKnight> (:-P) <BrooklynKnight> (which is why i love eberron) <BrooklynKnight> <Lapson> lets say I live in the poorest and dirtiest section of Sharn and decide to take a pleasure walk to the highest of towers... how hard would that be? <KeithBaker> Lapson: it depends where you want to go. <KeithBaker> Going from Lower Dura to Upper Dura is not that hard. <KeithBaker> However, going to Upper Tavick's Landing could be a problem. If you are improperly dressed, you'll be turned away at the gates or the lifts. <KeithBaker> And getting to Skyway requires the use of flight or a skycoach, which means gold. <KeithBaker> So, in terms of distance, it can be a long walk, but it's doable; in terms of guards, if you're scruffy, you may not be allowed in the wealthiest districts. <KeithBaker> Next. <BrooklynKnight> <Sarig> Any Areanas in Sharn? They can climb and all, so a city of towers are perfect for them I would think <KeithBaker> Actually, there is an aranea in Sharn, but I forget where! It would take too long for me to look it up now, but I know there is one somewhere. <KeithBaker> In general, aranea are not a major part of Eberron - <KeithBaker> Most likely an araena has ventured forth from Khyber, but it could be a creation of the Mournland. <BrooklynKnight> <Zedium> btw, that Sharn Aranae, it is on page 86, skyway to be exact, she owns a restaurant called the Cloud Dragon <BrooklynKnight> Thanks Zedium. I was looking in my book to find it. <KeithBaker> There you go! <KeithBaker> Skyway was one of James' sections, so I couldn't remember. <KeithBaker> I like the fact that we've mispelled "aranea" four different ways. <BrooklynKnight> heh <KeithBaker> Next question? <BrooklynKnight> <SabreSpellBlader> can you tell me more about the school system in sharn, do nobles go to special colleges, how many children go to each school, ect? <BrooklynKnight> <ramses_II> How frequent are the aerial jousting (skyblade?) matches, and what kind of people (adventurers? nobles?) are most likely to participate? <KeithBaker> Skyblade matches would be roughly like boxing in the US> <KeithBaker> Relatively frequent, but big-name matches would be farther apart and more heavily publicized. <KeithBaker> Most people who participate are professional athletes, typically soldiers from aerial cavalry units in the Last War. <KeithBaker> They could be commoners or nobles, though a commoner will need the support of a wealthy patron to get started, to maintain a mount and equipment. <KeithBaker> An adventurer could certainly enter the Skyblade circuit if he had a mount and found a willing patron, which wouldn't be too hard. <KeithBaker> Another common sport is windchasing, which is mentioned in a few places but was trimmed from the sports section for some reason; this is basic aerial racing, much like the Race of Eight Winds, but unarmed, typically involving a single creature type, and a smaller circuit. <KeithBaker> SabreSpellBlade: <KeithBaker> Education is discussed on page 17 of the Sharn Sourcebook. <KeithBaker> Nobles would often attend Morgrave University, the Library or Korranberg, or the University of Wyrnarn for advanced education. <KeithBaker> Class size is not something we've settled on, and I'd need to think about it. <KeithBaker> Next question? <BrooklynKnight> <Streamweaver> Can you talk a bit about how the Dragonsblood drugs fit into Sharn? They seem to too small a population they effect (sorcs and dragonmarked) and with the cheapest dose being 250gp it seems unlikely anyone could afford it. How can this drug exist on the street under those circumstances? <BrooklynKnight> <Edymnion> "Was there anything you really wanted to get into Sharn that somebody along the way decided to cut? And, if so, is there any chance a vague notion of what was left out could squeeze around the NDA?? <KeithBaker> The dragonsblood drugs do targe a small population - there are around 2000 potential users in Sharn. <KeithBaker> However, the people how possess the power to take advantage of them are also on the higher end of the economic scale - like adventurers. <KeithBaker> It's not a drug that is mass-produced and consumed in large quantities, like dreamlily; <KeithBaker> it's a small, specialty drug used by the wealthy elite. <KeithBaker> Edymnion - I overwrote my section by 30,000 words, which had to be trimmed down. * BrooklynKnight coughs Web Enhancements, really really really loudly <KeithBaker> 20,000 words of that dealt with a single topic. It was an obvious subject to cut, both because of the size and for a few other reasons. <KeithBaker> However, while I think it made sense to hold off on discussing the subject for a variety of reasons, I think it's a very interesting topic, and I do think you'll see it at some point in the future - though probably not as a web enhancement. <KeithBaker> Respecting the NDA, all I can say is that it expanded on House Tarkanan. <KeithBaker> Next question? <BrooklynKnight> <tecnodemon> I have an art question, on the full page cover, what is the warforge using and the one in full armor, what on the arm? <BrooklynKnight> <Zedium> Was the Roach Thrall inspired on the movie Men in Black by the way? In the movie they had a giant roachlike alien using a human skin as disguise, coincidence? <KeithBaker> One thing to bear in mind is that the WotC web boards and WotC sourcebooks are handled by different parts of the company - so the RPG development side will probably do something with the material in the future, but it's not in Web's hands. <KeithBaker> Zedium first - The monsters were James' work, so I can't say. Men in Black is one possible inspiration, Mimic is another. <KeithBaker> Technodemon... <KeithBaker> ... Unfortunately, this is another question I can't answer. I didn't do the art order, so I don't know what was specified and what popped out of Wayne Reynold's imagination. So the funky fist and the crystal rod are a mystery to me as well. <KeithBaker> The disks are soarsleds, though. <KeithBaker> Next questions? <BrooklynKnight> <Edymnion> Long question, quick recap, "If you're standing on a random bridge in Sharn and look up, how likely are you to see someone using magic to fly in the sky above you? Are we talking you might be lucky to see one, or is it more like highway traffic in some areas?" <BrooklynKnight> <ramses_II> Do the Redcloaks have any protocols for accepting new recruits? If they don't recruit new members, how do they deal with attrition? <KeithBaker> Flight travel: It depends where you are. The higher up you are, the more likely you are to see skycoaches and other forms of flying magic, because that's where the people who can afford them are. There's usually at least one airship in the vicinity of Sharn (Dantian has his personal yacht), and skycoaches are fairly common. <KeithBaker> Even in the lower levels, you get skycoaches traveling set routes. <KeithBaker> So it's not quite Coruscant or the Fifth Element, but the sky is a busy place - especially when you add in flying creatures as well. <BrooklynKnight> He ment people flying individually, not in skycoaches. <BrooklynKnight> (edyminon) <KeithBaker> Redcloaks: The Redcloaks are an elite military unit. You don't join the Redcloaks - you join the Royal Guard and work your way up the ranks. They are the special forces of the Army of Sharn. <KeithBaker> They deal with attrition by having soldiers transfered from other units - the Redcloaks in Sharn are only one unit. <KeithBaker> It's possible a truly heroic Brelish citizen could be recruited directly into the Redcloaks, but it would be uncommon. <KeithBaker> Next? <BrooklynKnight> Keith, Edymnion made a clarification of his question <KeithBaker> Yes? <BrooklynKnight> He ment people flying individually, not in skycoaches. <KeithBaker> Not many people have the power TO fly individually, since it's a 3rd-level spell. And soarsleds aren't *that* common. So unless you're counting things like hippogriffs, it's a fairly rare thing. <KeithBaker> You'll certainly see them occasionally, but there's not a constant stream of skymages. <KeithBaker> Next? <BrooklynKnight> <Sarig> Are there skycoaches for private use? Or do you have to transport people for 2sp if you own one? <BrooklynKnight> <Veander> Maybe not a terribly indepth question, but since I really love the Sharn CD found in City of Towers, I was wondering if anything like it is planned for the future? <KeithBaker> Veander: No idea, I'm afraid - that's a WotC marketing decision, and I'm a freelance employee. <BrooklynKnight> Veander: The best person to answer that (i suppose) would be Richard Baker or Chris Perkins. Email them at WOTC or Customer Service and you might get the info you're seeking. <KeithBaker> Sarig: There are private individuals who own skycoaches (though if a price isn't given in the book, I'd have to take time to figure it out). They would be expensive, but certainly nobles own them and use them to get to Skyway and the like. <KeithBaker> Next question? <BrooklynKnight> <tecnodemon> when talking about PC concept, you have said they are more like "elite" type of characters, can you give some examples? <BrooklynKnight> <Streamweaver> Do the Kalashtar have any special status in Sharn as refugees? Are they considered citizens of the city and how are they generally dealt with legally? <KeithBaker> The kalashtar have no special legal status in Sharn. Many of the inhabitants of Overlook are Brelish citizens; others, having recently arrived from Adar, are treated like any other foreigner. <KeithBaker> So generally, they receive the full protection of the Code of Galifar. <BrooklynKnight> <KeithBaker> Technodemon, could you clarify your question? Are you asking about my saying that PCs are elite individuals, or something else? <BrooklynKnight> (The answer is YES) <KeithBaker> Technodemon, one of the basic pillars of Eberron is that the PCs are heroes - that if this was a novel or movie, they'd be the main characters. As such, they simply have a greater potential than most people. <KeithBaker> This is reflected by the fact that they all get PC class levels, by action points, and by the ability to level quickly and to unrestricted levels. <BrooklynKnight> Example: Granted this is eberron and not startrek, but its very similar in concept to the diffrence between "A redshirt" and "captain kirk". <KeithBaker> Precisely. <KeithBaker> You may not start off as a 12th level character, but once you get going you could become a 12th level character in a year. The redshirt is just never going to reach that level. <KeithBaker> So PCs are not "elite' from the very begining... but they have unlimited potential. <KeithBaker> PC classes also represent elite training. <BrooklynKnight> Well, you can start at 12th level if thats the game the DM wants to run. (But its not as fun. :-p) <KeithBaker> The magewright is the plumber; the artificer or wizard is the genius scientist. <KeithBaker> Most soldiers are warriors; a fighter is someone special. <KeithBaker> Anyhow, hopefully that covers it. <KeithBaker> Next questions? <BrooklynKnight> <hiryuu> How much do the common folk know about the Kalashtar, and what'd you rule the Bardic knowledge DC to know the Inspired are horrible nightmare creatures? I mean, if the common folk of the nations knew, wouldn't they kick the Inspired out so fast it'd make their heads spin? <BrooklynKnight> <technodemon> what type of gambling (tavern games, card, chess, dice) are found sharn or any other city or town? <BrooklynKnight> I'm almost out of questions folks, so please send more in! <KeithBaker> Hiryuu - I have a feeling I addressed this in more detail on the Ask Keith FAQ on the WotC boards, so you may want to check there. <KeithBaker> People know very little about the kalashtar and the Inspired, and both races prefer it that way. <KeithBaker> This will be dealt with in more detail in Races of Eberron, but to a large degree the Kalashtar see it as their war to fight - it's a Men in Black situation, where they don't want to get the world involved. <KeithBaker> So I'd make the Bardic Knowledge DC 30ish, and even then what you're getting is stories. After all, how can you prove the Inspired are horrible monsters when the monster form never manifests? <KeithBaker> Also bear in mind that the Inspired have only been a presence in Khorvaire for around a century. <KeithBaker> As for the kalashtar, people find them mysterious, there are rumors that they have ties to ghosts, two souls, higher planes, things like that - but little known for certain. <KeithBaker> You'll get some of this in my novel, too, which comes out before Races of Eberron. <KeithBaker> Technodemon: That's really more of a Dragonshard question than something I can answer here; it's also mentioned briefly in my novel. <KeithBaker> A few common gambling games are Twelves and Three Stones (both played with the elemental deck) and a dice game called Sundown. <KeithBaker> Next question? <BrooklynKnight> Do any of those 3 games have real world equivilents. I'm assuming Three Stones is like Celo. <BrooklynKnight> woops mistook 3 stones for a dice game <KeithBaker> They aren't direct adaptations - like I said, it's probably something I'll develop as a Dragonshard or on BossytheCow. <BrooklynKnight> 0o0o <KeithBaker> Anymore questions? <BrooklynKnight> I bet they play Gloom TM, in Sharn. :-D <KeithBaker> I can probably hang around for another 30 minutes. <KeithBaker> We'll have to make the Eberron Gloom expansion. <KeithBaker> "Konsumed by Khyber." <BrooklynKnight> Oh yea, more in the que, i was just following up. I get to ask questions too durnit. But Since I ask mine during the week, its now time for everyone else. <BrooklynKnight> wow, Is wotc really letting you do that, or is that a joke? <KeithBaker> That's a joke. <BrooklynKnight> <BlackMoria> The Race of Eight Winds seems tied to eight specific mounts which are tied to certain districts. Can a independent with not ties enter the race? Can he use a aerial mount other than the eight mounts listed? <BrooklynKnight> <Sabre> Are there any epic level monsters under sharn, such as daelkyr or rajah? <KeithBaker> BlackMoria, no. It's a very formal event. A PC may be able to enter the race, but he'd have to do it as a representative of one of the districts and ride the district mount. However, there are less structures windchasing events throughout the year, so you can be an aerial rcer riding your own strange beast even if you don't participate in the Ro8W. <KeithBaker> Sabre, not that people are aware of. A daelkyr is unlikely, as Sharn was the site of a Dhakaani city. But the rajahs predate humanoid civilization by tens of thousands of years, so who knows? And then you have the lingering curse of the Lady of the Plague... <KeithBaker> Next question. <BrooklynKnight> <Lapson> A changeling has been caught trying to pass as a random citizen/ a whealty merchant/ Merrix D' Cannith. What is its sentence? <BrooklynKnight> <Streamweaver> Orcs seem to have a much more noble past in Khorvair than other fantasy settings. Does any of that bleed over into orcish citizens or are they just seen in Sharn in the same light as goblinoids? <BrooklynKnight> one sec <BrooklynKnight> follow up to the race <BrooklynKnight> <BlackMoria> What happens if 'spectators' actively interfer with the race. <BrooklynKnight> <BlackMoria> For example, someone using spells or weapons to attack riders or mounts <KeithBaker> Lapson, that would be "Counterfeit of Identity with Criminal Intent" as described on page 128 of the Sharn book. The sentence would vary based on the harm done by the changeling and the power and influence of the victim. <KeithBaker> If you're caught impersonating a beggar, no one is going to care. <KeithBaker> If you impersonate Celyria ir'Tain and are discovered, it's going to hurt. <KeithBaker> Streamweaver - Most of the humans of Eberron know nothing about the history of the orcs, so no, this doesn't transfer over to special treatment of orcish citizens. <KeithBaker> They aren't quite the same as goblinoids, because most people think "orc - Shadow Marches; goblin = Darguun". <KeithBaker> And there are orcs in House Tharashk. <KeithBaker> But they aren't seen as the triumphant fighters of the daelkyr. <KeithBaker> Next? <KeithBaker> There will be a Dragonshard on the Shadow Marches that will discuss modern orcish civilization soon. <BrooklynKnight> I'm sneaking in some questions now. Are there any "Underdark/Khyber/Dragon Below" type underground caverns passages undersharn (under the lava flow?) Or were the cogs simply built in that area? <KeithBaker> There are Khyber passages far beneath Sharn, in the lower depths. <KeithBaker> Beneath the goblinoid ruins. <BrooklynKnight> And the Goblinoid ruins are beneath the lava flows? <BrooklynKnight> And, BlackMoria had a follow up question which i'll repost. <BrooklynKnight> [21:35] <.BrooklynKnight> <BlackMoria> What happens if 'spectators' actively interfer with the race. <BrooklynKnight> [21:35] <.BrooklynKnight> <BlackMoria> For example, someone using spells or weapons to attack riders or mounts <KeithBaker> Some are, some aren't. Halas Tarkanan's actions in the War of The Mark caused significant tectonic damage and created new lava flows. <BrooklynKnight> I actually have a question about Halas, Sharn, and the War of the mark, but i'll save it for later :-p. After Black gets some clarifiaction, more questions from others! <KeithBaker> BlackMoria, the Goldwings and Blackened Book do provide security for the race, as it is a big tourist attraction - and you'll be lucky if they get to you before the mobs of fans tear you to pieces. <KeithBaker> If you did successfully interfere, you would certainly be prosecuted. <KeithBaker> Next? <KeithBaker> By the way, my wife and I should have the next segment of the Sharn index up later tonight at www.BossytheCow.com, with locations, organizations, and services. <BrooklynKnight> Thank god <BrooklynKnight> The cost of teleporting is under communications instead of services. yeash! <BrooklynKnight> (using orien that is) <BrooklynKnight> anyway, next questions! <BrooklynKnight> <technodemon> going back on sports, do you see a dargonshard on other type found in sharn or around the world in the future? <BrooklynKnight> <Sarig> Would a medusa be allowed to roam freely if she was blindfolded? (still having sight through her snake hair though) <KeithBaker> Yes. <KeithBaker> A medusa is mentioned in Malleon's Gate; he usually is just hooded, though he gets away with that because the Watch stays out of Malleon's Gate. <KeithBaker> As for sports... <KeithBaker> It's not impossible. I have a huge backlog on subjects right now, and it's not on my immediate list. <KeithBaker> But I have the next... eight or so already either written or determined. <KeithBaker> Next? <BrooklynKnight> <Edymnion> How much leeway do organizations like House Deneith have within the city where the law is concerned? If the guard get in on the tail end of combat where the party kills someone, would a writ from House Deneith be enough for the guard to essentially go "Alright, carry on." <BrooklynKnight> <Sarig> Any dragons luring in the great city of towers? <KeithBaker> Edymnion, it depends who they killed. Assassination and murder are still crimes. <KeithBaker> Sentinel marshals are in particular allowed to execute the law, so a sentinel marshal killing someone who could in some light be seen as a criminal will usually be OK. <KeithBaker> But again, if you just killed Celyria ir'Tain, having a note from Deneith saying you were hired to do it won't cut it. <KeithBaker> That's why House Tarkanan is a criminal organization. <KeithBaker> So, Deneith can usually get away with killing thugs and won't have much trouble for acting in self-defence, but it's not an open license to kill. <KeithBaker> Sarig, we have not placed any permanent draconic residents in Sharn at this time, but it's very likely that there is at least one Chamber observer - however, they may rotate on a regular basis. <KeithBaker> The Dungeon adventure Steel Shadows mentions one possible Chamber observer who could be a regular resident. <KeithBaker> Whoops, I mean "Fallen Angel". <KeithBaker> Next questions? <BrooklynKnight> <technodemon> will we see more prestige classes for artificers? Carnith Wand Adpet fits well with them <BrooklynKnight> <Sarig> Would a Nimblewright (from the MM2) be accepted by the warforged of the city=? <BrooklynKnight> <Streamweaver> The usual progress of expansions is to make each one just a bit better than the previous. This has a way of pumping up the power level. Will we see this in Eberron in general? If not how do you hope to keep it "Fresh" as a setting? <KeithBaker> I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the nimblewright off the top of my head, and I have cats on my lap. I'll see if I can get Honeycakes to find the MM2 so I can answer the question. <KeithBaker> Streamweaver: <BrooklynKnight> <Sarig> Hmm, accepted, more like, looked on like equal <BrooklynKnight> <Edymnion> Short answer, Niblewights are intelligent golems, essentially the missing link between an Iron Golem and a Warforged. <KeithBaker> The world of Eberron as a whole will not increase in power. It is intentional that the benevolent NPCs are weaker than PCs will eventually be. *** Androlpha is now known as Androlphas <KeithBaker> However, there are many powerful forces out there that we have not focused on. <KeithBaker> The Dreaming Dark, the Lords of Dust, the Chamber, the Daelkyr... <KeithBaker> And the "Champions of the Opposition" - Vol, the Lord of Blades - may increase in power over time just as the PCs do. <KeithBaker> So, we will continue to raise the power level in order to challenge advancing PCs - but we'll do it using what's already in the world, instead of changing the fundamental principles of the world. <KeithBaker> I don't see Jaela become epic-level, for example. <KeithBaker> Without looking closely at the nimblewright write-up, I would say that most warforged would accept an intelligent construct as an equal. <KeithBaker> However, a fanatical LoBster might hold that normal constructs have no soul and are therefore inferior. <KeithBaker> It also depends if the nimblewright can advance in class level - so, whether it is as adaptable as the warforged. <KeithBaker> If not, it will be seen as a more limited cousin. <BrooklynKnight> In your own games, (well in mine) one might consider Nimblewrights to be some of the original warforged experiments. Sure they had intelligence, but they had no souls and no living construct subtype. (my two cents) <KeithBaker> (lancing at the nimblewright, advancement seems to be HD only) <KeithBaker> That seems logical, BK. <KeithBaker> A warforged warrior will respect a nimblewright; a warforged wizard may say "Yes, but cwhat can you do beyond fighting?" <BrooklynKnight> next question? <KeithBaker> Next questions? <BrooklynKnight> <Sabre> does the population of sharn include people wandering through? if not, how high is the population if you include them <BrooklynKnight> <technodemon> which page are the funerals and aerenal catacombs in the Sharn book? <BrooklynKnight> <Streamweaver> Do you think we'll see more streetmaps for Sharn in the future? <KeithBaker> I'll do two more after these two, then that's it. <BrooklynKnight> yay, guess mines the last one cause the que is empty <KeithBaker> Technodemon, in Shae Lias on page 79 - the Gates of Passage and House of Repose. <BrooklynKnight> you missed a question further back Keith <BrooklynKnight> <.BrooklynKnight> <technodemon> will we see more prestige classes for artificers? Carnith Wand Adpet fits well with them <KeithBaker> You might also check page 103-105. <KeithBaker> Sabre, no, I think it's the stable population. Transient might increase it my as much as 10%, I'd think. <KeithBaker> Streamweaver, I honestly have no idea. I'll mention it as a possible web enhancement. <KeithBaker> Technodemon - I do think that there will be more artificer oriented PrCs in the future, but I don't know exactly when. <KeithBaker> Last question? <BrooklynKnight> yep <BrooklynKnight> here it comes <BrooklynKnight> Sharn makes it look like the War of the Mark was centralized in Sharn and around Halas Tarkanan. I thought that the War of the Mark was mostly fought over the Mark of Death? Can you clarify? <BrooklynKnight> I might be mixing wars together actually. <KeithBaker> The War of the Mark had nothing to do with the Mark of Death. The Mark of Death was eliminated in Aerenal in -2,600 YK, before the elves had much contact with humanity. The War of the Mark occured around -1,500 YK, and was the purge of the aberrant dragonmarks. <KeithBaker> The war reached acorss Khorvaire, but Sharn was one of the places where a significant force of aberrants banded together (under Tarkanan and the Lady of the Plague) and mounted an organized resistance. <KeithBaker> Hey Johnny - sorry I'm just finishing! <Johnny> sorry I'm late! I just got in from a road trip. <Johnny> but I look forward to reading the log at the Breland Ledger! <KeithBaker> Does that answer the question, BK, or do you want to expand? <Johnny> I'll be sure to get this one online more promptly. <BrooklynKnight> Yea, i got it now. I was mixing wars again :-p, Stupid me. <KeithBaker> If you have one burning question, Johnny, I can answer one more. <Johnny> I'm cool. <BrooklynKnight> Well, I guess we're done tonight. I'll re-open the chatroom for open chat tho I dont know how long Keith will stay. <KeithBaker> I need to go get back to work on the Sharn index, not to mention having dinner. Thanks for coming, everyone! <BrooklynKnight> Thanks for coming everyone. And please remember, this chatroom is here 24/7. We also have an Eberron specific Forum for all you fans to chat at outside WOTC. www.siberys.com/forum *** Mode change "-m" for channel #eberron by BrooklynKnight <Sarig> Does Janni have their own community in Eberron? Do they exist? Are they integrated in the common cultures? <technodemon> cool <Streamweaver> Thanks so much Keith and everyone involved for doing this for the community. <hiryuu> Damn you and your forums! <technodemon> thanks Keith <Sarig> And thanks Keith! <hiryuu> Thank you! *** Signoff: BlackMoria ((null)) <Zulithe> Thanks for stopping by, Keith! I'm really looking forward to your Sharn novel <KeithBaker> Ask on the Ask Keith thread, Sarig! <Sarig> I will! <Ramses> thank you, Keith! <Johnny> as always, thanks a million, Keith! <Streamweaver> Will make sure to do that <KeithBaker> Thanks, Zulithe, hopefully it will live up to expectations. If you're ordering through Amazon, make sure to use our link on www.Bossythecow.com! <technodemon> Aereanl characters are hard to come with for concepts, beside doing the priest thing <Edymnion> Yeah, I'll be sure to buy 2 copies, just to help the sales =D <Sabre> does copyright laws allow me to make an Eberron fan site with original game content, as long as i don't use any material from the books, even pictures? <Streamweaver> Any of the Eberron community web admins here? <Zulithe> <Sarig> Oh, it's over 4am... <hiryuu> Oooh *** Signoff: scourger ((null)) <Sarig> Sabre, I think that's allowed as long as you're not making money on it... <KeithBaker> I'll see you all next time! |
| polt01-02-05, 07:35 AM | No problem, thanks to #eberron and Keith. I love how Keith talks to us, so much about Eb, thanks a lot :) |
| ArthurQ01-03-05, 02:07 PM | Someone should take some of this stuff and add it to the FAQ. |
