Hey, I was wondering what you thought of this Campaign idea and how you would expand it. It's designed to follow up the "Forgotten Forge-->Gasp of the Emerald Claw" adventure path. However, I haven't read Grasp of the Emerald claw, so I don't know what happens to Eleydren d'Cannith, but anyway, she incites this campaign.

A prominent member of House Cannith (Paerin d'Cannith) has gone missing! His workshop has been destroyed and there are signs of a fight. Everything of value, including a great deal of notes, have been stolen. They find a battered emerald Claw soldier's mask beneath one of the piles of collapsed furniture.

The PC's learned that he was an adventurer himself, who had been making expiditions to Xen'drik to find lost secrets. He had been excited about his latest find but he is telling nobody about what it actually is.

The PC's learn the names of his adventuring companions: Uriel, a Knight of the Silver Flame, who is residing in Thrane, Fie, a changeling sorcerer who lives in sharn, and Jelsep, a rogue who stayed in Stormreach after their adventure.

Here's the background:
Paerin, while investigating ancient giant ruins, found a prototype of an ancient giant dimensional seal which was to be used in their war against the Quori. However, before the design could be perfected, the Giants unleashed the magic of the Dragons, sinking Xendrik, yada yada yada.

The dimensional seal was not complete, however, and Parein took it back to Sharn to work on it. His companions promised not to tell anything about the seal, but somehow (how?) it was found out.

Paerin was kidnapped by agents of the Emerald Claw. They know nothing about why, but they have followed their orders. Vol wants the seal to plant it using the Stillborn in the city of the dead in Aerenal, cutting off the manifest zone there and getting her revenge on the Undying Court.

However, there are other groups who want the seal:
-The Gatekeepers are obviously very interested, as the secrets to making the seal have been lost. They are not evil, but they can make good antagonists for the PC's.
-The Lords of Dust wish to Place the seal in Sharn, causing the manifest zone there to close and making the towers crumble. Why? Because they're EVIL!
-The Dragons of the Chamber who want to see the prophecy fulfilled, and this is rather bad for it.

I'm thinking of tying in the Lords of Dust by having Lady Eleydren be murdered but actually be a Rakshaka in disguise. How should I keep that from working?

The Chamber could jump in at any point. A Dragon flying in and demanding the Seal is a great way to leave a cliffhanger.

The Gatekeepers could be allied with the PC's, until they take the Seal for themselves.

But how could I tie the whole thing together in a series of adventures? I'm thinking of the first part being finding out what Paerin was working with. Fie could be murdered before the PC's get there, while the PC's are talking to Uriel, he could be exposed (see, framed) as a whispering flame cultist before he can tell the PC's everything, and the PC's might have to track Jelsep into a Xen'drik ruin, only to find that he has gone mad, due to a Giant's trap, but his cryptic ramblings begin to reveal clues.

Then, the PC's could be told of a lead by the (now murdered) Eleydren d'Cannith. They'd have to infiltrate a Emerald Claw stronghold and, with the Gatekeepers' help, steal the dimensional seal from one of the Crimson Covenenat. However, the Gatekeepers betray the PC's and steal the seal for their own use.

However, the Gatekeepers that helped them had been ambushed by a the best the Cultists of the Dragon Below could muster (who are being led vicariously by the Rakshaka).

Where should I go from there? I want this campaign to last a while, but I have no idea how it would end. Any Ideas?

I know its not part of the path, but you should run the Golden Voyage module also, , just to fill the spot and then do your campaign, other than that, great idea.
