06-24-04, 01:16 PM In another thread, I can't recall which, someone mentioned a desire for more sayings, aside from 'by the Five Kingdoms'. Got one for ya.

'Smart as a Warforge Cook.' Meaning, a really bad idea.

Example:
"That plan was as smart as a Warforge cook!" -- prisoner, to fellow prisoner

"You're carrying acorns to Eldeen." (Or marble to Mror, or corpses to Karrnath-- all intended to express the pointlessness of the activity at hand.)

"He's been conscripted." (A Karrnath euphamism for someone who has died, naturally or otherwise.)

"I'd trust him like a Lhazaar treaty." (Treaties with pirate princes are usually flimsy.)

"You're orc-smart." (That is to say, not very.)

bolt, v. To ride on the lightning rail. Ex: "I bolted all the way from Sharn to Korranberg."

Shifters probably have any number of phrases for their shifting--mooning, revealing, growling, were-ing, going hairy, going toothy, etc.

"He's a bloody lunatic," Which could refer to a shifter or a true lycanthrope afflicted. I'm surprised there isn't a group of Shifters called the lunatics.

07-06-04, 05:57 AM I unfortunately remembered something from my Eberron game that may be painful to share:

My player who has a warforged palladin found a crate containing a an everbright lantern and he wanted to know what that was so I gave him a brief explination about it and how it can be left indefinately on. And thus I sang the jingle, which I thought was appropriate at the time.

When darkness surrounds on all directions, grab your handy Everbright Lantern. Trust Everbright-They Glow!

07-06-04, 02:08 PM Someone could be described as having "Talenta luck", meaning they're lucky like a halfling.

Someone could be described as having a "shifty temper", meaning that it's short, like a shifter's (with a double meaning that it's somewhat mercurial).

If someone is known to be true to his word, his word would be "as good as Kundarak gold", or simply "Kundarak gold", meaning that it's pretty darned secure.

When looking for something hard to find, this could be described as "looking for a changeling in Sharn".

A particularly dark night could be described as "Mabarian".

When someone is particularly hard to fathom, they are referred to as "dragon-brained".

"You're choosing between Ghallanda and the Mournland", used to describe a particularly obvious choice. Obviously, Ghallanda-owned establishments are more hospitable than the Mournland.

"May the Flame burn your eyes", a common curse in Thrane.

That's all I can think of for now.

In my campaign, all the PCs are crewmembers on an airship. And the warforged (fighter) is the cook. Really.
