Lanodantheon 05-13-07, 03:50 PM	Although the Eberron homepage has the regular Sharn Inquisitve feature, which is a beautiful campaign resource (Shameless Plug), I was thinking that for my upcoming game I wanted something a little... different. The Sharn Inquisitive feature plays it straight, it's a solid, honest newspaper and sometimes I don't want that. I want a supermarket tabloid for Khorvaire. One of those heavily photoshop laden ones, albeit magical for Eberron. The ones with the headlines that you really have to stretch to get. The ones My problem is that I'm no good at thinking of ones that apply to Eberron. Help me out here. What are some tabloid headlines that would be the Eberron equivalent of Headlines about conspiracies, celebrities and aliens and Elvis?
Rechan 05-13-07, 04:16 PM	In my campaign, there's going to be a Sharn rag called the Blue Blood Bulletin (or B3 for short), which is pretty much a gossip pamphlet about the upper classes and notable celebrities. As for Headlines: Kaius's Haremgirl Births Mummified Baby. Keeper of the Flame Parties With Teens. Jorlanna d'Cannith's Fiendish Love Affair. (FYI, Jorlanna the head of Cannith West). Nightmares Make Man Mug Minotaur. Kalasthar Sex Secrets Exposed! (Article details weird tantric sex practicies that aren't actually practiced in Adar). Other Planes Exist; Mad Artificer From "Earth" Confirms Lord of Blades Tied to Strawberry Shortage. Liqour Leads to Lichdom for Lhazaar Leader. Hag Sisters Have Half-brother in Dragonmarked House. Silver Flame High Preacher Breaches Peace with Prostitutes. Thrane Fane leads to Pain for Main Bootlegger Vein. Fiend Battles Royal in Custody of Child. Basically do the following: (Notable NPC/Organization/Monster/Outlandish Entity) + (Sex/Pregnancy/Hypocracy/Embarrassment) + (Rhyme Scheme or Alliteration) = Headline. Throw in the occasional headline that is ACCURATE or almost accurate, like "Bishop Lead By Fiend in Flame", and have everyone dismiss it as pure BS.

Splendide 05-14-07, 03:55 AM	I had the idea that somewhere in Sharn is an enterprising goblin who basically copies every story from the Sharn Inquisitive, but invents parts to make the stories more interesting, and thus distributes Cogwords free with stuff you buy from his general store or its affiliates.

One headline read, "Redneck Vampire Terrorizes Trailerpark!" and "ET Highschool Yearbook".
