Is there some way to figure it out or some chart to deal with PC's asking questions using Knowledge: History? |

| JohnnyONeal06-15-04, 12:05 PM | One question I've how well the PCs can be expected to be appraised of widespread practices in other nations. For example, does it take a low DC Knowledge (Religion) check to know that the Silver Flame is a good religion, or is that common knowledge? Would characters need a Knowledge check to know that Karrnath uses undead troops, or that Sharn has tall buildings because it's in a manifest zone? |

I'd call that common knowledge -- it's a widespread religion. Knowing the name of the Keeper of the Flame would take a check. Would characters need a Knowledge check to know that Karrnath uses undead troops That one's a judgment call. I'd say that there's a good chance people would know about it as pure rumor -- "The Karrns keep fighting even when they're dead!" -- but any factual information (what sort of undead they use, how they differ from normal undead) would be a knowledge check. or that Sharn has tall buildings because it's in a manifest zone? Absolutely. Most people would assume that magic was involved, but the average person doesn't know from manifest zones. |
