04-28-06, 06:52 PM I imagine there would be, particularly in areas of town frequented by tourists and travellers. The Library would probably have its own guards.

For the regulars , they would have tasks like directing traffic, stepping in to noisy arguments, giving directions, checking in on the elderly, telling off kids playing in busy streets, things like that...think of the stereotype of the English metropolitan police in the early 20th century, not the usual American model most campaigns use, where guards are the law.

If they see something dangerously dodgy, it would be little effort to get the Trust involved.

LOL :rofl: Have you read the description of the Trust. Its all they need. You screw up, they show up, you dissapere. Problem solved. Next.

If there is a guard other than the trust, its probably just for looks, and general order. But I think its fear of the Trust that keeps people straight. Just my thoughts though.

04-29-06, 04:40 AM This came up in the AKB thread. There are uniformed trust officers around, for the public to deal with when they want to be seen. (Remember the existance of The Trust isn't a secret, nor their general methods, just the specifics.)

They may exist, for instance, to deter visitors who don't know how things operate in Zilargo, or for people to bring up crimes with. (It's slightly more effective to have people come up to you and report crimes they've witnessed, since the Trust isn't 100% effective at detecting them.)

I would also expect the Zil to have some warriors and medium-sized humans to quell physical threats to the peace that weren't prevented by the covert activities of the trust.
You could probably call them the town guard, with the implicit acknowledgement that they're not watchmen, just the Trust's heavies.
