In my campaign my PC’s are going to have to travel from Korranberg to Zalanber. I am trying to figure out their options before they begin. I want to know how long it would take by Rail, Airship, horse, and walking. This way they can decide what is most cost effective.

Help!!!

Instead of calculating all of this nonsense, why don't you have the method that you, as DM, would prefer to be the best suited and then make a plot element fit in to it.

For example: Have the lightning rail be the best alternative. Have it faster or cheaper or whatever it is your PCs are looking for. Then, you can stage a chase scene or a robbery in the confines of a train. Take a look at the first scene in Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade to see what I mean.

Yes, I am creating encounters for all forms of transpertaion. Each one with a diferent plot twist. I just don't like to dictate where my players are going. As soon as I do that they will say "no we really want to find an airship."

I am working on figuraing it out so it is not that big a deal. I just thought that someone might have done an average speed per type of transpertation.
